The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

If she doesn't do a rematch shes crazy

The amount of money both fighters will make off that rematch would be crazy. I dont even care who wins, I just want to see them fight one more time

I know the dollar difference is very different from the two situations but after Carano got beat down by cyborg she decided she had enough of mma.

Say it ain't so

 @ChampCruThik

Pretty cool that the thread is right down the middle for the fight this weekend

I can't believe it's been 50/50 the whole time

At this point it isn't just hype. If he loses so be it but he's at the very least a worthy opponent. I don't agree ONE BIT that aldo should be the underdog though. That is ridiculous

And thats exactly what I mean....he's def a top 5 guy but for him to b the fave over aldo...a guy who hasn't shown any real weaknesses, hasn't lost in 10 years, while mcgregor hasn't proven he can go 5, has shown nothing off his back or tdd, gets hot easily in every fight...that's hype getting to the odds makers but it's cool just like they bought it with ronda and i cashed out, I will do the same here

McGregor is the new diaz bros with kicks and spinning **** and no threat of the ground game...literally marches forward throwing strikes and pressures while talking ****

I think McGregor is the real deal. There is also a lot of hype for the kid created by himself and the UFC, but it's sad because his skills are taking a back seat to the hype when they should be the main talking point.

This is going to be an amazing fight for die hard MMA fans. This is a top striker vs a top striker. 2 all time greats in the striking department. They are going to both give it their all on Saturday. But McGregor's mental edge and hunger is what's going to get his hand raised in the end.

The man's Bruce Lee-esque belief and discipline combined with his hunger are what's going to get him the edge on Jose. I also feel like Jose is coming in emotional. That's going to give him a jump start in the first round. He may even win a couple of the first exchanges. But McGregor is going to keep pressing forward with that granite chin and he is going to tag Jose often with that left straight. It will be a back and forth battle but I just think Conor's chin and his hunger are going to be what puts him over the edge.

That young, hungry kid from the favelas is long gone. Jose is comfortable and complacent now. There's a grown simba in the jungle ready to take that crown and he is starving.

Jose is going down swinging. He will probably even win a round. But in the end, I think we are going to see Jose crumble against the cage in either the 3rd round or the 5th.

Whatever the outcome, I just hope it's everything it's supposed to be. It has a strong possibility to be the greatest UFC fight of all time.

The Night We Faced Aldo

^great article with commentary from all of Aldo's past opponents (except Frankie, Cub ad Korean Zombie).

Couple thoughts on the fight:

1. After reading that article, I see multiple guys on there mentioning that getting leg kicked by Aldo was some of the worst pain they've felt in the cage. Bad news for Conor.

2. The fact that Conor and his camp seem so adamant about heading to 155, immediately after this fight even based on some reports, means the weight cut is really getting to him. He'll have a size advantage, but that's bad news for his cardio. And it'll be interesting to see how the lack of an IV affects him too.

3. Aldo is more muay thai based and Conor has that taekwondo/karate kinda style with the looping kicks. I think aggressive muay thai fighters are a tough style matchup for those flashy tkd style fighters. Conor has heavy hands and some boxing skill of course but he hasn't dealt with a dude as athletic as Aldo that's ready to bring the fight to him, and his defense isn't the greatest. If Mendes touched his chin up it's a guarantee that Jose will too.

So overall I think Conor has to find Aldo's chin and probably do it early, otherwise leg kicks, bad cardio from the weight cut, and Aldo being Aldo are gonna make it a rough night for him. I'm taking Aldo by decision or late stoppage.

As far as the other fights:

- I think Weidman loses to Rockhold, he's been relying way too heavily on his chin lately. Rockhold has the size and striking to hurt him, and enough wrestling and grappling experience to not be worried about Weidman on the ground.

- No idea with Jacare and Romero, just wanna see a good fight.

- And I think Chad vs. Frankie is a match between one guy that needs to survive 5 rounds to win a decision victory vs a guy that can win a decision or just knock you out cold. I think Chad has the odds 60/40, but I'll be impressed if Frankie pulls it out.

RIP to the rest of what remains of Ronda's career. She has blind loyalty and doesn't even sound like she's convinced herself that she can get her belt back

"Of course I'm staying (with Tarverdyan)," Rousey told ESPN. "That's my mom's opinion, not mine."

"I need to come back," Rousey said. "I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I'm going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open again. I have to f*cking do it. It doesn't matter. I have to do it."

"I just feel so embarrassed," Rousey said. "How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn't even f*cking there."

Yeah...RIP

Doesn't even sound like she even believes in herself tbh.

She says "I need to come back" "I need to beat this chick".. not "I will come back" "I will beat this chick".. like she's doing it to save herself from the embarrassment that was the first fight.

Im just as big of a conor fan as the next guy, but when doods start calling him a "an all time great" and this and that....I gotta check that

its def. not for what hes done in the octagon.....dood has fought cans all the way up until mendes, relax....

lets see him WIN a belt first and defend it a couple times before we start calling conor an "all time great" at anything

the hype is mad real folks, stay un-biased.

Anybody else not feeling the UFC calling this a unification fight? I don't think they understand the premise of a title unification match considering if Aldo wins he won't retain his title and become the interim champ as well.

Confirmed: The Frankie Edgar vs Chad Mendes fight will take place in the smaller, 25 foot cage. Don't get mad at me G Money, just relaying the message

Nobody cares about unification. Everyone knows Aldo is the real champ
