The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Pretty much said Conor was the better man and he'll be back.

The "not a fight" comment was put in the wrong context.

And the translator always messes up the post fight interviews. Not the first time.

I can dig it.. Conor gained my respect. Dude has been on a mission and has had this sort of confidence from the very beginning.

Can't eem hate the dude anymore, fams.. I feel disappointed in myself for not hating him

But this dude is real.

I

:pimp:

I normally dislike fighters who talks a lot of smack (mayweather, Ronda) but can't help but like this dude mcgregor. Mostly because his trash talk is clever af and hilarious

I respect dudes who back up the trash talk. And it's clear that he's a pretty likeable dude outside of all the hype talk.

Can't hate on any dude that has that much self belief in themself

The thing about Conor is, to me I feel like I can always tell when dudes is frauds and don't really believe what they say. I fully expected Conor to come out in the interviews and the press conference and act "surprised". But it was the opposite, dude was really that confident in his technique and mindset. Made me respect him in a new way. The way he conducted himself spoke volumes to me, he fully expected it to play out that way

Looks like Aldo is saying he deserves a rematch. I would hate to see it, I'd rather see Edgar but Aldo deserves it

"We spoke (with Dana White) right after. But I think it’s too soon to talk," he said. "Of course, I want a rematch, and I think I have this right. Not only me, but my career speaks for itself.

Aldo definitely deserves one imo, just a matter of when. I'd like to see Connor fight someone else before though.

He really is that dude :pimp:,probably their most marketable star in a while

Gotta love uncle dana.

Honda gets a rematch cause she was the most dominant champion for 2 years.

Aldo does not get the rematch cause he was a undefeated for 10 years.

From Ariel's show so far:

Conor's coach says he believes the next fight should be at 155 for the belt in April. Then in July for UFC 200 perhaps Conor could defend at 145. He said Dana told them they could choose whatever they want. He gave Frankie his props but said everyone should be patient

Conor's coach also said Gunnar is as hungry as ever and wants to improve all of his weaknesses. He was worried that Gunnar would disappear into the woods

Anthony Pettis saying Dana and them promised him a title shot when he signed a new contract if he beat Eddie. He says he's now working with the wrestling coach for Jon Jones and Holly Holm. Pettis sounds very focused on getting his belt back, he said mentally he's back where he needs to be. He says that Conor would be a fun fight and that Ferguson looked impressive with his cutting edge style

Dana gonna screw Pettis

I don't get why Conor would be granted an immediate title shot at 155, it would definitely screw a few guys at 155. Well I get it, they want money, but logically it makes no sense. With that being said I wouldn't be upset if Conor skipped the line. I just want to see intriguing fights, we never get to see champion vs champion matches which is something I personally welcome

Khabib saying he will give RDA a rematch if RDA calls for it should be beat Cowboy. But he also says he knows it's risky to rush back into the title after a two year layoff. He would like to fight in March and in July at UFC 200. He said he would fight Pettis/Alvarez or Ferguson which could be a #1 contender fight

Khabib was very impressed with Ferguson and said 2016 will be a crazy year for MMA. In terms of the whole karma thing (when he kept making fun of Pettis for getting hurt) he says if somebody doesn't like him, that's not his problem and he's not worried. He doesn't change for anyone

He just won the 145 belt. Go defend it. Don't worry about another division. You're the champ, rep for your weight class.

khabib can talk all he wants, doesn't mean people give a crap what he says. The hardcore fans will pay attention but most would be like who the hell is that guy.

Or vacate it if ur planning to go up...Frankie keeps getting screwed

Don't like him holding up great contenders.

Side note, just remembered barao is moving up to 45, could that mean aldo going up, rematch at 55? Lol

At this point, Frankie may get screwed even if Conor stays at 145. If you think about it, Aldo deserves a rematch. Even though I would rather see Frankie, Aldo hasn't lost in 10 years

Al Sterling pretty much saying Dana offered him a deal that was a slap in the face. Not to mention he noticed how he was placed on the undercard not even close to the top billing. He also didn't win any bonus for the third time. With all that said, Dana gave him props after the fight, said he would let his managers handle the negotiations

Overall the door is open to him, he says he's just worried about financial security. Whoever offers him the best deal he'll take

Frankie got more respect when he was at 155. Maybe he should move back up. He can still match up with the best lightweights.

Interesting, Javier Mendez saying that not only was Luke not 100% but that Weidman looked off too. He said he thinks both guys were handicapped coming in to the fight. Very interesting

He was very pissed that Dean didn't stop the fight. He said he bet that Ray wanted to throw in the towel. He said that if Luke was taking that beating he would have thrown in the towel

He said a rematch would make sense and that Weidman deserves it

chrisweidmanufc- I will remember this moment for ever. It has already changed me for the better. The motivation I have inside myself has never been stronger. I did not feel like myself in there for many reasons but it was a loss that I needed and deserved. I have been playing back different moments in the fight where i didn't do or react the way I should have but this was all part of a true master plan that God has in store for me. I will be back and I will be champion again. I just wanna let everyone know that I am ok. I am so blessed with an amazing family, friends, team and fans. Thank you all so much for the support. It means more now than ever.

-Cody Garbrandt vs John Lineker set for FEB. 21. Great fight

Or down lol. Him vs dillashaw or cruz would be great

And I have no prob with conor getting an immediate shot at 55 considering we don't have a solid 1 contender there maybe Ferguson but he needs a win over a cerrone/pettis top 5 guy imo.

Frankie did get an immediate shot at 45 dropping down

I don't want immediate rematch for aldo, although u can look at it like he just got caught or u can say he was gonna lose stylistically. Feed him someone else then a shot

I can't beleive I'm saying this.

But give Frankie is damb shot, he earned it.

I love Jose, his legacy has probably earned him a favor, and their is precedent for a instant rematch, but I'm sure he will be able to beat anyone else at 145 in the interim.

Or if you're gonna screw Frankie at 145. Fast track him at 135.

Conor vs Edgar in April at MSG, supposedly , will be crazy good for fight fans.

Aldo deserves a rematch but I think he should fight someone else to build some confidence back , getting knocked out like that takes something out of you.

Maybe Aldo vs Holloway.

The Man :pimp:

Listening to Ferguson now, damn he's a true fighter. He said he's always going for the finish as well as doing creative moves. I've always been a fan of Ferguson, now I'm even more so on the bandwagon

He said he reached 201 lbs. at one point, not the healthy way either. Wow, that's pretty crazy

He says Khabib is still on his radar. He says if Conor gets the title shot, more props to him. He said he will beat anyone: Pettis, Cowboy, RDA etc. etc. He doesn't even know how many fights are left on his contract

He is now randomly calling out Pettis, should he win or lose, he wants to fight him

Was a very weird call out... this dude is nuts. Now he's pretty much criticizing all these camps saying they're predictable, Jacksons and ATT and Blackzilians

Brock Lesnar still keeping in touch with him from TUF
