The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

WERDUM!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Happy Browne got worked, dude was acting tooooo arrogant in the 1st, got his swag turned all the way off

Cowboy looked overwhelmed tbh but timed that jab right (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he timed it and it wasn't a lucky punch). Barboza has lost a few times when he was in the driver seat.

Khabib is cool but I honestly don't really see him being a guy who attracts eyeballs. He's basically the sambo version of Bendo. tbh I'm not really a fan

Props to Werdum. He had his shot once and the fight didn't happen. Glad he (hopefully) gets his chance now.

^^ Agree on Khabib. Everyone likes him right now but give him a few more fights and people are gonna turn against him because of his style. People are already calling him the 155 version of Askren.

Why no interview for Werdum? Wanted to hear what he was saying to Browne.

The post fight conference will be on UFC.com I'm waiting til they come on... I too was curious as to what Werdum was telling Browne

Khabib would have just pinned Nate Diaz for 15 minutes

I remember the days when Werdum was just a mid-tier contender in PRIDE....who would have thought he would be fighting at peak levels right now at 36? He's gonna get a well deserved title shot :pimp:

Edson Barboza got that Frank Mir chin. Just one clean shot and he goes down. Striking is inversely proportional to his ability to take shots.

Just wow at Werdum's striking. Can't wait for his fight with Cain.

I wonder how those people feel by voting for Browne to win. Majority must not have known Werdum.

Dana White basically ripped Werdum in the press conference

saying he fought safe and that he should have went for the finish and all this other bizarre crap. Kept saying that Cain goes 100 MPH all 5 rounds and Cain never lets up. Made excuses for Browne saying he had a broken rib.

Damn. I've heard the UFC is bullying fighters which caused some fighters leave the UFC seems pretty accurate to me

Sucks that fighters have to deal with the ufc's bs politics and strong-arming.

Did he not get the broken rib From kicks to the body?? So u can't use that as an excuse Dana. What a performance by Fabricio!

Whipped the hypemachine's *** in every single facet :nthat:

tbh I still believe in Browne, he showed a hell of a chin and even though he was gassed he still got close with a few bombs.

He first and foremost needs to improve his endurance. This has been a problem area from day 1. He also was taken down for the first time in his career, I was imagining what it would have been like if it were Cain on top

These two areas indicate that Browne would get murdered by Cain. A fight with JDS or Stipe will be nice.

^ Agreed. Browne can be a champ but he's gotta work on his cardio, head movement, footwork, and maybe even his striking. I'm only saying striking because he was telegraphing all of his punches and it felt like he was only looking for the knockout. No defensive jabs, combos or anything. Maybe everything was because of the broken rib making it harder to breathe, making him more gassed.

I haven't heard a single person complain about Werdum last night. Everyone loved how he was saying things to Browne, smiling at him, mocking him, then unloading on him with a barrage of punches and kicks. He even pulled off the kip-up in a match like Shawn Michaels. Dana just needs to fall back. In the earlier years, everyone thought it was nice hearing him rip fighters, sports writers, etc because they compared him to Stern, Goodell, etc and they'd never do that. But now its just irritating a lot of fans and making them tune out.

tbh as long as Cain is champ I think he has the exact tools to always have the upper hand on Browne. So I would need to see significant improvement from Browne in his problem areas. Browne's cardio has always looked bad IMO. As long as Cain is champ, imagining him outworking Browne and going to the mat would get ugly for Browne. Also look at how slow Browne is, going up against the quickest HW in Cain would also be quite an issue.

As far as Dana goes, I shouldn't have said "ripped" but he did lowkey throw shade at Werdum for no damn reason

Something about Davis I just can't rock with yet. Wouldn't even be mad if Rumble blasts him.

I feel like Romero is what I want Davis to be, albeit Romero hasn't faced top flight competition yet. Right now, Davis doesn't make me say oh **** as many times as I'd expect from someone with his credentials and physical tools

Werdum deaded the Browne hype with a beat down.

Travis somehow managed to beat two superior fighters in Overeem and Barnett but Fabricio is a legit top 5 HW in the world and he showed it last night.

Barboza losing like that hurt my feelings cause he was looking nasty up until that point. Cerrone is a killer though so i kind of expected it.

Thiago looked tremendous given the lay off.

Khabib gonna Khabib...

Romero is like the 185 version of Lombard. He needs a top 10 guy next time out. Would be good to see him fight Jacare.

I wouldn't say Reem and Barnett are superior to Browne. Reem has no gas tank himself and has a glass chin. Barnett can be one dimensional and is definitely old as dirt. Browne got lucky IMO in the Reem fight but I wouldn't say Reem is superior at all. Barnett pretty much put up no challenge at all and couldn't take Browne down, which was the only way he would win.

I've never seen anyone drop that quickly off a short jab like cowboy dropped, in any pugalistic combat sport.

I don't even understand how he didn't see it neither. That one boggles my mind
