The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

Jorge finally getting a big name :smokin

I was worried the fight with Bobby was going to be a counter striking snoozer.

Ben is more active so I like this fight a bit more.

I feel like Henderson hasn't used his clinch or wrestling his past 2 fights.. I bet that'll change against Jorge. I'm thinking he'll try to grind Jorge out

Sick of seeing bendo period. Ufc needs more up n comers. Mcgreggor and uriah better live up to the hype or their n trouble for a bit.

Coincidence that in the intro for the last event the narrator said mcgregor was a once in a generation talent. So now two fighters who have been described as once in a generation are fighting each other and from the same generation. Generation overload.

More specifically, they called him a once in a generation superstar...which he might be if he can keep it going

I don't think there's much hype behind Uriah Hall. He's 30, not saying that's old but yeah.. I don't think the UFC is pushing him all that much or even at all. They showed that knockout headkick from TUF over and over after it first happened but other than that ..

Any push Hall would've gotten from UFC died after he lost to Gastelum and then to Howard when they kept giving each other high fives and hugs.

UFC doesn't need to give Hall a name .. Hall is just to sweet if that make sense .. However if he continues like he did the last fight, dude is going to be a champ ...

Dude was getting bested for most of that first round by a relative nobody.

I like his style but i don't see him being any better than top 10.

No doubt Hall has recovered since that embarrassment high-five fest but I'm not really sold. He beat washed up Leben, Santos and a random journeyman on like a week's notice. He's already 30. I'd like to see him get a large step up in his next fight

Spider aint happy with Machida and Jacre

"Jacare is my friend, Lyoto is my friend. But all the time, [those] guys don't talk the same as me," Silva said on a Thursday conference call. "When I go to talk to people for media, I say, ‘I no go fight Lyoto because he's my friend, I no go fight Jacare because he's my friend.' But when those guys go and talk to the media, Lyoto says, ‘I go fight Anderson because I go fight.' Jacare says, ‘I go fight because I go fight, because I'm a fighter.' But my opinion, I don't like the positions that Lyoto and Jacare (are taking), because I don't go fight these guys. Because I'm training with Lyoto for a long time, sometimes I train with Jacare.

"When I go train with guys, I go to help you. ... I put 50-percent of my energy into helping the guys. When the guys talk like this, I'm very, very, very disappointed."

That was hilarious. I just watched Sunday's card.

Silver didn't do anything. Like he literally had nothing for Connor. And Connor's last two finishes in the UFC have been suspect, lol. I like Connor's movement and left jab. Other than that kick and leading uppercuts, I really didn't see anything.

Bendo seems lost. That fight was close. The winner could've gone either way, lol. Greg made me laugh when he told Cowboy you can turn it up anytime now,

Anyways, Bendo did like 0 wrestling, GNP, etc. And that ******ed knee kick he borrowed from Jon Jones was over used. Probably could've went for more leg kicks instead. If he were to fight Pettis right now, Pettis would win easy. Bendo's last few fights have been submission loss, knockout and now decision loss. He needs to go back to basics while still tryin to grow.

Don't think Conor's last two finishes were suspect at all. He had those two guys down. The finishes were inevitable. Siver looked like he had simply given up tbh

I saw a lot from Conor, in terms of spacing, range with his kicks, boxing, movement, pace and control... the problem is, it was against Siver (who is solid but not worldbeating by any means)

I agree Siber did look like he quit.

I finally watched UFC 182.

I like Cowboy and maybe it's his last three opponents (Alvarez, Jury and Henderson) but I don't think he can hang with Pettis, Gilbert, Habib and 50/50 w Dos Anjos.

LW is stacked. It's the best division right now in the UFC. LHW is probably next followed by WW and MW.

And Cromier was done after the third round with Jones. The height/distance, constant strikes and pace were too much. As much as I hate Jones, he's definitely the top dog in the division. I'd like to see the Gustafson rematch just so we can have a definitive conclusion and someone who is the same height.

Lombard looked okay in his last fight. UFC are not doing him favors pitting him against the Canadian Psycho. Rory will beat him via decision.

I think UFC should've had Hendrix go against McDonald for #1 and Brown/Lombard to build the next contender. Brown/Lombard is stylistically a good fight and could possibly lead to a finish either way.

Damn, that's a hell of a debut! Over in a flash
