woodley 5'9 but hes massive
rda is like the perfect size for 155 after his cut
congrats, man. the next three will come quick, and before you know it, you're getting your blue.
when i was a newb, charles gracie told me that getting your blue meant you were capable of beating the **** out of any untrained man you'll ever encounter. that really galvanized me to train more lol
a blue belt from a good school will destroy almost every untrained person they'll ever encounter. gracies used to let their blues beat up people who walked into their schools for the gracie challenge to prove this point.
16-year-old ryron gracie as a blue belt taking on a wrestler in the gracie challenge--an open challenge to anyone who wants to test the effectiveness of BJJ in a fight. this one was an outlier as it was grappling only; most of them were full-contact vale tudo(no holds barred) rules. if you were a self-proclaimed "master" of a martial art, you had the pleasure of facing one of the gracie black belts.
You are aware they already fought with Khabib winning decisively, right? A rematch would only make sense if RDA stayed at 155 and racked up some decent wins.
Y'all see the Kelvin Gastelum interview on Bloody Elbow where he discusses his issues with weight? “When I’m outside of camp, I gain 40 or 50 pounds above my weight class,” he said. “It shouldn’t have to be that way, and that’s on me. I go out and I eat all this delicious Mexican food. It’s just little changes of habits (and) lifestyle. So far I’ve been able to do well. I did well in the holidays that just passed; I did pretty good, surprisingly.”
UFC should have him and Hendricks compete head-to-head in an eating competition at the next event one of them misses weight at. Winner goes head-to-head with Cormier shortly thereafter.
