The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Not sure if posted but Dana seems to believe that Conor would stay at 170 if he wins in dominant fashion tonight.

I think Nate wins tonight but in the event Conor wins I'm assuming he'd automatically draw Robbie. Dana seems like he wouldn't stand in the way of that fight.

And Conor thinks he'd be too fast for the Ruthless one.

I'm curious however.....Say Conor really does pull it off. Beats Diaz emphatically, stays at 170, outpoints Robbie and becomes the WW champ...Would that draw this man back to the octagon?

And would that fight be the first MMA PPV in history to break the 2 million buy mark (a feat only accomplished by Floyd Mayweather)?

He really won't though, he's not ready for Diaz' unorthodox boxing. He's about to have his Rousey experience.
This.

Nate's standup is being severely underrated. I honestly think the only way Conor will beat him will be to go after the leg first to open things up.

Conor is a ****** at 170. If he takes the Robbie fight more power to him, but after seeing that weigh in, I definitely think he'd get killed now. He weighed in fully hydrated and fed at 168, meanwhile Robbie and all the other top welterweights weigh in completely dried out at 170. He doesn't want those problems.

As far as tonight I'm definitely rooting for Nate, and I think he presents some problems that Conor hasn't seen yet, but I still can't really say I think he's gonna win. 11 days notice might be too much for him. And I still haven't forgotten how he completely **** the bed against Ben Henderson and was a punching bag vs. RDA. He hasn't done the best against the top tier guys, especially the really athletic ones. Hopefully he shows up tonight and makes it interesting, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if he doesn't.

McGregor TKO, or Nate by sub if he can somehow get it to the ground.

Holly by decision I think. She destroyed Ronda but she also decisioned two bums before that, I don't know if she's really who we think she is just yet.

Conor is gonna wreck Diaz. I'm surprised Diaz is the popular pick. McGoat hate is strong in here

It's actually the opposite  there's more Conor lovers in here they just haven't showed up. Chester doing some voodoo picking opposite of his mans

That may be true for some in here, but I'm not a fan foamy fighter per say, I just enjoy watching great martial arts competition.

My diaz pick is based off Conor still being relatively unproven despite being the featherweight champion, Diaz' last performance, facing tougher competition and his weaknesses that aren't conors strengths (attacking the lead leg and wrestling. This is Conors first time fighting a guy taller and longer and with just as good boxing skills.

Diaz got tagged a bunch with the left hand of the orthodox fighter michael Johnson but that left hand won't be there as often for conor because he is a south paw. Diaz has an amazing right check hook and a great jab that he uses often. Both foghters have a solid chin so I can't envision a knock out for either which means it very well may go to a decision. Conors cardio for 5 rounds hasnt been answered and diaz has cardio for days regardless of a fight camp.

Anything can happen, I'm expecting a back and forth with conor gassing in the championship rounds.

With all that said, I wouldn't be surprised if conor finished him either. Or if diaz subs him late.

Nope, styles make matchups and Nate is one of the worst for Conor. Southpaw who doesn't get stopped, can eat shots, has unorthodox boxing, a great ground game, and the size advantage. Cardio for days.

I have no idea how Conor is such a huge favorite. The only positive for him is the short camp that Nate had.

Nate's fight against michael johnson really impressed me. I thought johnson's speed would be too much for him. But like you said, he doesn't rally check kicks and just eats them. rda brutalized him with leg kicks.

Basically my thinking. Conor taking that L if Nate had a full canp
