The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

Please don't do that to Mr. Wonderful. He needs a soft momentum building opponent after Rumble outclassed him standing.

After beating davis, rumble shouldn't face anyone ranked below him to be considered a contender.

Unless Dana makes him wait for Gus...That pretty much only leaves glover. I'm sure glover would like to get back in the mix for a rematch as well and beating davis would do nothing for him.

Also I love OSP and don't want him in the line of fire quite yet

Again though, the UFC would really match Rumble with a guy coming off a terrible loss? I think that makes less sense, Glover should get matched with someone coming off a loss too.

Jones definitely has a tendency to destroy his opponents. I'm just not sure the UFC goes the route of matching a contender with a guy coming off a loss, I don't think Silva likes operating like that if he can help it.

At this point you could do a Glover/Henderson bout.

Helwani is saying for right now, it looks like Glover/Davis is gonna happen. Both coming off of a loss and they both want a top contender so they can get right back in to championship fight talk.

Is Hendo staying at 205? Thought there was talk of him dropping down to 185.

tbh I wouldn't even be mad at Davis/Tex or Tex/Rumble. The division absolutely needed a shot in the arm and Rumble fits the bill. The division definitely needs new blood.

Henderson was just feelin some sort of way because he was getting tossed around like a ragdoll by DC. Aint too many folks gonna do that to Hendo though, even at 205

Rumble was scary last night but his best win is still Davis imo.

Still a finish like that over a legend is always going to elevate your status. He deserves a title eliminator next. It's just a matter of who he'll be fighting.

Brown impressed me with the level he fought at. I thought Robbie was going to finish him early but he showed that he belongs in the top 10.

Bermudez is kinda like the 145 version of Dillashaw to me. Constantly improving and finishing Guida has moved him into big fight territory.

Bobby Green looked good against Josh but i think stylistically that fight was ideal for him. He's talented but i can see the elite pressure fighters like Bendo, Khabib, Gil getting the best of him.

I would love to see Matt Brown vs Carlos Condit and Rumble vs Gustaffson. But they will probably feed winner or OSP/Bader to Rumble.

Damn. Bachelor party weekends can take your souls boys...

Bermudez/Lamas is something I would like to see happen soon. The UFC fed Lamas to the wolves and a big-time contender fight like that would be good for both fighters.

Jesus, Rumble is a BEAST. He runs through the OSP/Bader winner if you ask me. NO ONE is going to want to fight AJ in the next 6 months.

Loved what I saw from each fighter in the Main Event. I really didn't think Brown had what it takes to hang with the best of the best, but he showed he belongs, that's for damn sure. Robbie's head movement is so damn slick, though. That rematch is going to be BANANAS. :pimp:

Just throwing it out there, am I the only one in here that thinks DC is going to take Jonny's strap?

You aren't the only one.

I just don't see how bones can win. His only chance of winning is a sub off the back cause he's going to be there all night long.

I'm also rooting for DC but we all know Bones. He will maximize his reach advantage and may try to beat his opponent where they are best. In this case, DC's strong point is his wrestling.

Just imagine Jones goes out and ragdolls DC to make a point.....

Sounds ridiculous but given what he's achieved already it would not surprise me.

Wore it Saturday and getting rocked in the gym today. Poirier next!

Masvidal needs to open up more. Use his jab to create openings. He's a DAMN good counter puncher, but it leads to bits of inactivity that drive me nuts.

As much as I want to see him vs. Cerrone, I'm thinking maybe Michael Johnson makes more sense right now. Or maybe Punk.

But Bobby Green just made a hell of a statement against a Top5 LW as well.

RUMBLE, young man, rumble.

Lawler is a beast. Looking forward to the 2nd fight with Hendricks.

Matt Brown is THAT dude as well. Good to hear Dana say he hasn't lost a step and possibly even moves up the ladder at 170. Because sometimes who you fight means as much if not more than the win or loss.

Brown/Condit.....was mad it didn't go down the first time. That fight needs to happen now.

Bermudez the latest featherweight to talk title shot because of a "streak" and a win over a non contender. But he's Puerto Rican and from NY so I may have to go full fanboy and co-sign that.

Hopefully that division sorts itself out. I like Bermudez/Lamas. Y'all know I want Cub/Edgar. I'm a little worried that if Conor wins decisively in Sept., with Aldo/Mendes fighting in Oct. that the UFC may fast track Conor. Have him sitting cageside in Brazil or some ****. Hopefully not.

DAMN good night of free fights.

Somewhat excited to see Dillashaw and Barao fight again. Always like watching DJ fight.

But damn.....177 probably gonna do struggle #'s for a PPV. That should be a free card somewhere.

Especially since I feel like the UFC needs to market their lighter weight fighters more.
