The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Wow. Just read UFC owners are in advanced talks about selling the business.

Yea, it'll probably be sold before the end of the year which is pretty crazy considering some of the groups that are interested in buying it aren't interested in keeping Dana around.

Hard to imagine the UFC w/o Dana's antics,
What's funny is that I bet if you ask most people who they thinks owns UFC, they just assume it's Dana. Probably see him as a Mark Cuban type owner

Oh, for sure.

That's understandable, tho, because I feel like unless you're a hardcore fan you're probably not going to know who the Fertittas are.

What's annoying to me are the people who think the UFC is a sport and not an MMA promotion.

My little cousin hit me up one time asking if he could stay w/ me for a few months so he could "train UFC" and I wanted to fly across the country and hit him w/ a spinning back fist,

Nope, the Fertitta brothers do.

Bought it for 2M back in 2001 and apparently the high offer for the company is anywhere from 3.5 to 4B.

Not a bad ROI,
lol ... I know man. I was being sarcastic.

Dana is the president and I think owns like 5% ... Still, dude is a rich dude.

If UFC is sold, and the new owners co promote Conors fight with Mayweather. Mystic Mac strikes again.

I bet the Fertittas sell the UFC to a Chinese company and still have a small percentage.

Wonder if the sale does go through if some fighters would jump ship

Dana white has 9% equity of Zuffa Corp so he'd be looking at a large exit if they were to sell.  Fertittas own a good amount and the rest is owned by some Middle Eastern Sheikhs or something.

I rarely even post and when I do it's in here, you're not special, relax.

Conor did nothing against Nate?

Might wanna go back and watch that 1st round again because Conor destroyed Nate on the feet.

Nate took over once Conor gassed in the 2nd, Floyd would've been killed in that 1st round.

Even if Conor had to turn into a panic wrestler against Floyd there is 0 risk on the ground.

Only person Floyd is submitting is women via punches, he can't even tap any of his children, let alone a high level MMA fighter.
He did not destroy Diaz, not one bit. It was actually close. Watch it without the sound so the 95% Irish Fanboys Reactions don't throw u off. Ive seen the fight 4 or 5 times

He destoryed him in rd 1 yet couldn't even hurt diaz, Diaz hits him with a 1,2 and ol boy does the chicken dance and next thing u know he's shooting for a td lol

It's funny to me because I remember a few cats in here saying that Conor and Rousey losing didn't hurt the UFC.

Now they're selling.

For the low IMO too. 3-4 billion? That's NOTHING for the top promotion in one of the fastest growing sports on Earth.

Truth is Dana & Co just don't got it anymore. They sell he's likely out because he's a minor owner.

They don't know how to put together cards. They'll never hit 2 million PPV buys anytime soon with Joe Silva and Dana making the decisions.

The Fertitta brothers ******* up, they need to man up and dump Dana and Joe. They're bugging selling.

Then again that Reebok deal was a terrible decision on their part too. Really that whole braintrust is inept at this point.

I'm f****** tired of all this injury bs. Some you can't help.. but if Cain Velasquez doesn't injure out of his next fight again I'll be thoroughly surprised. The dude is training like a damn idiot.

His trainer posted a video of him lifting / working out and it's cringe worthy. Bad lifting technique, too much weight for someone who should be concentrating on fighting, and sometimes I wonder if these UFC fighters realize that they should only go 100% on someone on fight night or in full sparring gear. :smh:

Mind you this was months ago I saw that clip but I doubt anything has changed.. if he wanted to stop being injured he would have changed something a long time ago.

Dudes really still trying to act like outpointing somebody is destruction? Destruction is what Nate did to Conor in the second round. Tagging somebody regularly doesn't equal destruction.

Watched the second episode of embedded. Anderson was fine on Sunday just crazy how it played out. Still has me a lil upset this morning lol. I was looking forward to that match and him being in his home town
