The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

December is officially here fellas.

I can smell the fights.. they're getting closer. We're 11 days away from the first death on a UFC PPV card. I believe Aldo will stomp Conors head in after his KO victory. Herb will try to pull him off but there's no stopping scarface.

Put the bottle down -- it's too early to be drinking.

Lol at the thought of Aldo channeling his inner Kid Yamamoto after KOing McGregor. Even though it would be an awesome sight to see, it would be horrible for the sport.

-Bisping v Mousasi set for FEB

-Conor's coach upping the ante

"I've said from the start that I can see this being a two-round fight, yet another part of me can see it being over in 60 seconds," Kavanagh wrote for Ireland's The 42. "But we give respect where it's due because Jose Aldo has been the champion for a long time.

"He'll probably try to slow the pace down and initiate some grappling exchanges. However, with Conor's fight IQ and the manner in which he can read situations, even if Aldo comes out with a completely new style and approach, it won't take Conor long to work it out. It's almost like The Matrix, in that he sees a new problem which is being presented, downloads the correct response from his brain and then executes the plan."

"I think it's going to be really difficult for anybody at this stage to last longer than seven or eight minutes with Conor in that type of environment," said Kavanagh. "If it's not an extremely quick finish, I definitely can't see it going beyond the second round."

I think they're baiting Aldo rush out the gates and make a mistake or get tired in the later rounds

Conor will be the one rushing out the gate..his style is to come forward and walk you down. Aldo will fight his fight, wouldn't surprise me if he took him down 5 straight rounds seeing how easy Chad made it look.

What is the reach difference? Aldo hasn't fought anyone this long since Kenny Florian right?

I highly doubt Conor will rush. He literally just said in a recent interview that he expects Aldo to be emotional and overreact to any offense. Conor isn't going to let emotions get to him. He is not a rush out of the gate fighter. He is a calculated aggressor, and very opportunistic

Now on the other hand I doubt Aldo will rush either. After all this time has passed, the emotion should have waned by now. I expect him to fight his usual tactician fight as well. Leg kicks and stiff straights
70" for the champ
73" for the plastic belt champ
74* for the plastic champ

I will bet Conor will run at him and do one of them Spinning Wheel kicks as soon as they say let's get it on.

Just because Conor expects Aldo to be emotional and overreact.. doesn't actually mean Aldo will be emotional and overreact

Perhaps he will but whatever he does and has shown in his previous fights are calculated. There's no way he'll be out of control or reckless in the first 10 seconds. He is efficient in the way he expends his energy and it shows in his footwork and movement. When he smells an opening he'll go into attack mode. Other than that he is tactical
