The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

So he faked an injury cause his piss was hot?
Na I don't think there's any real evidence of that. It was just a weird situation surrounding his testing. First the testing officer asked for his autograph. Then apparently the officer messed up the first test samples so he had to go back. When he returned someone in Aldo's camp (an off duty cop) detained the officer. Eventually all of Aldo's tests came back clean

If Silva is found guilty and suspended for 1 - 2 years does his suspension start from the day the suspension is handed down or does it start from back in Jan/Feb when he was originally temporarily suspended until the hearing?

*Josh Thomson not re-signed by the UFC, close to a deal with Bellator

*Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo

Conor McGregor           -190     (10/19)

Jose Aldo                     +155     (31/20)

*The bantamweight contender will undergo surgery on his right ankle this Thursday in Atlanta, his manager Danny Rubenstein informed MMAFighting.com. Assuncao injuredthe same ankle back in December but was told he did not need surgery. However, he was recently forced to go back in a boot after he was informed he rushed back to training too soon and the ankle didn't properly heal. After several weeks in a boot, he was then informed by doctors that he would require surgery after all.
Aldo is the underdog!? easy money I'm putting down $500 on Aldo

Well DAMB. CM Punk and Pendred (Conor's teammate) beef is LIT

Easiest money I'll ever make :smokin

Why can't I?

I can't know I'm not interested in 135lb women fighting without watching full length fights?

knock it off

So you're gonna say Ronda is only going to have 15 minutes of fame, but you've never seen her fight?

Do you realize how stupid you sound?

Of course CM Punk is an easy target.

But he's probably worth 5x more than dude. As well as more famous.

Dude can have all those wins he wants but what does it really mean in the grand scheme of things for punk

I think it has to be when its handed down

I think it was @Vincent Van Ho  that was asking whats gonna happen to Rothwell and Stipe, but looks like Stipe v Rothwell is targeted for Fight Night 76 in Dublin.
Yup that was me, that's pretty much the only fight the could do

I'm assuming:

Cain vs Werdum

JDS vs Overeem

Stipe vs Rothwell

AA vs Mir

Barnett vs Nelson

Talk about a log jam. JDS, Stipe and AA/Mir will deserve a shot with a win

Everything is gonna get messed up if Fedor does sign and ends up fighting Werdum.
If Rothwell wins he'll deserve a shot as well

I don't think Fedor is coming anytime soon. If he does I would say in 2016, so I think Werdum will have one more title defense

UFC Tonight suggesting that the judges should be in a room instead of cage side. Not a bad idea

Do the judges just watch monitors with no commentary at cageside? Are those significant strike numbers avaialble to them after each round also?

Stats are not available and I don't think they have instant replay so not sure if they have t.v.'s... I know they don't have stats, Rogan always says they don't

I think the judges only got monitors within the last 5 years after UFC begged the NSAC to allow them.

If they get the same feed as Rogan and Goldberg, they probably get replays unless their monitors are turned off in between rounds and during breaks for nut shots and eye pokes.

Really don't understand ufc booking cain vs Werdum immediately. If cain loses how do they market one of their more popular hw for another shot. I guess they expect the title to constantly change hands....they had a couple good options available but booked em all smh

To be fair, putting a heavyweight champ in a title fight at extreme altitude after being out for 18 months was not exactly the ideal comeback fight. In my eyes, that Cain Werdum fight has an asterisk next to it just like Mendes McGregor.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch of either of those fights and I wouldn't be surprised to see either one of those rematches go the other way the second time around.

That isn't fair, Cain chose to not acclimate to the altitude. Werdum went months in advance, Cain had the same choice to make, his coaches urged him but he didn't listen

I wouldn't mind seeing rematches either, just not an immediate rematch. Timing is everything

As far as asterisks, I already called that folks would do this about Conor's win. It was predictable, Conor wasn't going to get credit so he really had nothing to gain and everything to lose against Chad

Cain had several months notice and is known to be the best conditioned HW in the game.

Chad had 12 days. It's nothing like Mendes/Mcgregor.

Cain got his *** beat for 3 rounds and it wasn't close. This is easily the least deserving immediate rematch that's happened in recent times.
