Well...lucky for him, Weidman is hurt so we can be spared of another TKO/injury.

I don't really know who they can put him against next. He would kill contenders if they pit him against Rockhold, Jacare, Machida, Belfort, etc. Also, unlike the HW division, there is a big log jam to the MW title picture thanks to Weidman's injury.

Seriously...Cain, Cruz, Weidman and Pettis are way to prone to injury. I just don't understand how Lawler or Cowboy do it.

UFC really needs to take a look at these weight cuts and fight camps.

Do you mean kill contenders as in he would dominate those guys or meaning he would waste a contender fight?

He'd Okami those guys possibly knocking them out of title contention which would affect their bottom line.

I can't say he'd dominate those guys. They're all pretty good. Machida and Belfort (cough cough Brazillians cough cough) are one dimensional so stylistically Anderson has a shot. Rockhold I don't know. It's possible though since Anderson is a good counter striker.

Again, is that what UFC wants? It's the same issue with Faber.

My dude Diaz is delusional and tough as nails. Good to see Anderson di his thing though

I don't see it that way bro. I don't think Anderson is back to God mode to be able to say he'd Okami those guys, especially Rockhold.

Anderson himself acting like he doesn't know what he wants to do. Don't think the hunger is there to fight for a title tbh, his body language leading up to tonight and after the fight lead me to believe his mindset is elsewhere. I feel like he just wanted to prove to himself that he could come back and not end his career on that sour note

Dana saying he has a replacement to offer to Vitor. Who could this be? Rockhold and Machida are scheduled to fight, they pull one of them?

There were like 4 comeback fights tonight, pretty crazy that Leites, Alves, Tate, and Iaquinta all won their fights after rough starts. Although Iaquinta wasn't in danger, he prob lost the first rd.

Woodley :hat this a real dude right here. Didn't even realize he didn't want Gastelum's money

"He lost the fight, he missed weight, that's punishment enough," said Woodley (14-3). "I don't want to take his money. He's a young kid, I know what it's like to barley have enough money to feed my family. I don't want his money."

Woodly is awesome can't knock a real dude...

Went Into this hating the diaz bros... To cocky and attitudes are classless.. After seeing diaz respect to silva thought everything made me start to like him.. Then the fight happened.. Boring to me. Nothing worse then 2 guys that want to counter the hole time. N even worse is diaz saying "I think I won all the rounds I kept the pressure on him. Yet at the same time he would take steps back and put his back to the fence... Which is running in the judges eyes, non the less I say boring fight cause of diaz...... Should have streamed instead of wasting real money

I think Anderson was just happy to make it through in one piece.

His leg held up nice, he took some decent shots without any issues. He got loose a few times where i thought he might try and go for the finish but Nick is tough as **** to his credit.

Was the perfect match up for his return. Was sick to see him back in there pimp.gif

Dana offered Vitor a chance to fight Machida, Vitor declined

"Vitor Belfort and his wife were blowing me up, asking me for an interim title fight. My thoughts were, he's not going to be out that long to make it an interim title fight," UFC President Dana White told the panel on the UFC 183 Fox Sports 1 post-fight show.

"So, I pulled together this fight. I called Lyoto Machida. Lyoto Machida said send me the bout agreement. Called Vitor back and Vitor didn't think that was a great idea.

From Vitor's FB:

I would like to say that, as everyone else, I’m very disappointed with all this situation.

For exactly one year, I have seen my dream to make history in UFC with my 3rd world title in a different weight category postponed.

Here are some facts: - UFC had to reschedule the middleweight world title content 3 times because of my opponent’s injuries. (from May/14 to July/14- Weidman had a knee surgery, from December/14 to February/15 - Weidman had his hand broken, from February/15 to probably May/15- Weidman had his ribs hurt) - MY FOCUS WAS ALWAYS THE MIDDLEWEIGHT BELT AND I CLIMBED THE LEADER TO ACHIEVE MY POSITION. - This is why I won't fight for an interim, but if UFC gives 8 weeks and the middleweight Belt available for dispute I fight with anyone from the ranking. Not for an Interin, But the Middleweight Belt! - I’ve been in this sport for 19 years and I have never let UFC down. - I accepted to fight for the Light Heavyweight Belt right after the my sister got kidnapped and I still won the world championship. - I offered myself to fight in the UFC 152 against Jon Jones with less than 8 weeks to prepare myself to the bout and I had exactly the same injury my opponent has now and still I stepped up to the fight.

I would like to thank UFC, the press and fans support, always.

Focused in the Middleweight Belt!

Belfort's coach said he turned it down because they were training for an orthodox wrestler in Weidman for 6 months and Machida being a southpaw karate guy would be a huge change. But if they offered Rockhold, Jacare, Romero, or Munoz (really?) they'd accept it cause it wouldn't be a big change in training.

Last night Dana said they offered Belfort another fight after he turned down Machida so we'll see if he accepts it and who they offered.

I hope it's Rockhold. Wouldn't be mad with either Jacare or Romero (he'd be my 3rd choice) though

These camps need to tone it down for training :{

Messed up that even after breaking his leg during their second meering, Silva has had more fights than Weidman.

Bendo vs Thatch is super interesting.

People aren't really aware of Thatch yet but now he's in the main event against a high profile opponent.

I think Bendo might struggle cause Thatch is giant and his striking is evil.

YES man. All of this

I think Bendo is biting off something big even though Thatch isn't even ranked (understandably)!

Thatch has all the makings of a future champ but man this step up in competition for Thatch is something serious too. If Bendo goes back to his wrestling it'll be nice to see Thatch get tested in that aspect

Nobody talking about Thatch or seem to care but he's such an exciting prospect

both have only fought once since then.

Like I said a week ago, Weidman gets hurt a lot but for some reason it hasn't gotten the same coverage as Cain and Pettis.

I wonder why Bendo went away from his wrestling. Maybe he got tired of people calling him a boring and point fighter, but back then it was working for him and he was winning. Now he's in danger of dropping 3 in a row.

No one is talking about Thatch because he's not a big name. I agree with you that he's an exciting prospect and Bendo is gonna have his hands full with him but a lot of UFC fans don't care about fights unless the fighter has a well known name. Thats why we're getting Rampage and CroCop. And why even though Weidman was tearing through the division, a lot of people didn't talk about him until he beat Munoz and then Silva. Thats why UFC was able to make people believe Siver was a real challenge for McGregor and Travis Lutter was really gonna give Silva a challenge.

Man, just caught up to last night. Diaz/Silva was terrible. Not sure what was Nick's problem. He has good boxing. He should've tried to point fight Anderson versus all of that pointless taunting. He really did seem like he was only there for the money. Honestly, other than maybe Rory, I think all of the other WW would wrestle him to the ground and GnP Nick.

Silva should just retire. But I know Uncle Dana won't let him.

Al Quinta had a good TKO. The only thing was him keeping his hands down.

Leites had a great come back on Boetch.

Thiago Alves had a good come back too. Pretty much the main card were all decent fights and good comebacks until we got to the co-mains. SMH at Woodley/Gastellum.

Gastellum decided to get serious and press too late in the fight. If he had fought Woodly the way he did in the third, he would've won the fight. Sucks for him. First, the weigh in issues and then his hype train was de railed. It's too bad Brown and Lombard are taken. He needs to probably fight #6-8 right now. He's going to get creamed at MW.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was a good and entertaining card until the co and main event. Those two sucked especially the co main event ... I give Silva a pass as he just came back and I'm sure the mentals weren't there ....

I definitely give Silva a pass for the performance, coming off that injury and his age

What it comes down to is that neither Silva nor Diaz care about getting the belt. You can see it all over their face and their body language and what they say. I don't think I'll be excited to see either of them fight again which is really sad. Poured some liquor for em both last night

Honestly, I expected a better fight. Diaz didn't have to worry about wrestling so I figured it would be a stand up war. He's been ranting and raving about wrestle/GnP and was given an opponent and main event spot light. But I guess Diaz didn't want to get counter struck by Anderson.

How about Page/Silva at LHW, Bisping/Silva...I don't know. There just doesn't seem like many compelling matchups. I can't believe he signed that ridiculous contract.

Has this guy fought? Besides a sparring session where he happen to knock out Silva, what is his claim to fame? Does he fight in Soares' MMA league?

Dude only has two pro fights?

Isn't Silva supposed to do TUF Brazil with Shogun soon?

If he still is, give him that fight during international fight week/4th of July weekend as his retirement fight, induct him in the UFC hall of fame, and give him one of those fake office jobs like Chuck and Hughes. I read somewhere that he signed that contract extension cause it helped him with his work visa/permanent resident situation so he could stay in the country.
