The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

lmao stockton slap was in full effect

 Beautiful

And Conor definitely fell in love with his own power. You don't decide to just spam overhand lefts against a dude with a chin like Diaz, gotta be smarter than that. Near the end of the first when I saw what he was doing I told all my boys Nate got the fight wrapped up, all he had to do was look out for the left and he got this dude.

If he cleans up his tdd and jui jitsu though he can still do his thing at 145, those dudes wouldn't have been able to handle the kinda shots Nate was eating.

conor was in that ***** looking like he never heard of a jab in his life

Dudes in here acting like Nate is the second coming of GSP or Spider..He put in work last night and I'm glad he finally got his big pay day..But don't start acting like dude is all of sudden in the P4P discussion..
Funny - That's the same thing all the Conor haters been saying. LMAO ... shiy works both ways.

No one is saying that at all

The entire point is that the Diaz brothers are constantly overlooked as being great fighters. Their personalities, trash talking, and IDGAF attitude overshadows that

I guess we just see things differently..Both Diaz bros. are fun to watch and put on a great show..But in all honesty neither of them is ever going to be a champion..They're too inconsistent and way too willing to trade punches..I do think both of them deserve better than being on free fight nights and should be on the upper level of ppv cards..

Conor just posted this on his FB page:

I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed.
I will never apologize for taking a shot.
**** happens.
I'll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am. If another champion goes up 2 weights let me know.
If your tired of me talking money, take a nap.
I'll still be here when you wake up with the highest PPV and the gate. Still talking multi 7's.
Thank you to the true support and **** the hate that came out of the woodwork. I love it all. Its still steak for breakfast.
I've been here many times in my life in some form or another. I'll eat it all and come back stronger.
Aldo you are a *****. Dos anjos you are a *****.
When the history books are written, I showed up. You showed up on Twitter.
To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges. Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on.
Nate I will see you again.

Nick Diaz is a legend of the sport. He already has won a championship and defended. Albeit it was Strikeforce and not the UFC, but his resume is legit in both promotions. No denying that.

Conor was landing it at will though. My boy (a boxer) was explaining to me he was using the overhand to set up the uppercut and it kept connecting. He was like Conor should keep doing that until it stops working. Nate wasn't timing it up, he was eating them.

Frankie going to toy with this dude unless Conor can clean KO him

That's where his chin comes into play.

If your boy is a boxer, he should also know that it's wise to set up those power shots with jabs. And just mix it up period. Hooks can be mixed in. Throwing the same 2 punches over and over again with the same hand against a seasoned boxer is probably not the best recipe for success.

I feel like he didn't really mix in his kicks as well as he could have either.

And just because punches land doesn't mean someone is "eating them". Even the slightest movement can lessen the impact/effect the location of a blow.

Conor has never really had good kicks to begin with. He rarely does damage with them. He just uses them as set up shots for his hands

Aldo really lookin' a mess out here.
I was reading his twitter and he sounds erratic as hell. Kind of funny considering in the Kanye thread I keep dismissing some of the reckless **** he says on twitter, but Aldo's timeline looks just as crazy

That L to Conor did some **** to Josay's brain.

He's like one step above Ronda in the bat**** crazy department right now.

He just seems sad and desperate right now.

The Ronda comparison makes sense because you can lose with dignity. Come back strong. Work your way back.

Or you can do **** like this.....

Exactly. A L is an L. Everyone takes them at some point in combat sports (GSP to Serra, etc). Gotta know how to bounce back from it.

Posting craziness on Instagram/Twitter and crying on Ellen ain't exactly how I'd do it.

Don't think that's accurate. Mendes and Siver know this.. and using kicks to set up other strikes is fine, doesn't mean they aren't good kicks
