The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

This percival guy is a terrible ref hahahahahha. First he deducted two points for legal elbows and in another fight he let kawajari choke some guy unconscious because he didn't see the tap

Damn kawajiri murdered that kid. :x
The ace has a huge heart. Once he polishes his striking he is gonna be a problem

Ace has the power. Just gotta clean up the technique and footwork a bit.

Mr. Perfect with the sub. We outchea.

Crusher Kawajiri will be a problem for the division in UFC.

Isn't this percival the ref getting all the boo's during the december ufc event in australia? Now I know why hahaha.

That holloway vs chope fight though. That chope guy can compete up to LHW with his height.

Late pass if this was posted already...Danny Mainus vs Zac Chavez

Schiavello is a great commentator IMO. Very entertaining and knowledgeable to boot. Milletich aint bad either. It'd be cool to have them do some UFC fights to change it up. Better than Anek and Florian IMO. Don't think it'd ever happen though. I also like the guy who did the Strikeforce fights.

Miletich is easily one of my favorite announcers and breaks fights down better than damn near anyone in the business. Anik and Florian just don't work for me, maybe give Stann a couple more shots.

Miletich would be a good addition but idk it would happen. He and Dana doesn't have the best of relationships. I remember Dana was mad at him cause he took part in that ESPN spot that ripped UFC for basically taking advantage of fighters. Another good addition would be Frank Mir. He was decent when he did commentary for WEC. I just think anything would be better than Anik and Florian. Might as well just a commentary team of Miletich or Mir and good old Jim Ross from WWF.

Please don't tell me you're talking about Mauro Ranallo or Gus Johnson.  One was clueless a lot of the time and the other talks at 100mph in both pace and volume.  Johnson moved on to football of all things.  I think Frank Shamrock was the last guy in their group, and he knows fighting obviously, but he had a way of plugging himself personally into analysis.

Gus came to MMA from Football and College Hoops and he was great at that but horrible for MMA.

No man, not Gus Johnson. Lol. I was talking about Ranallo. He's money in my opinion and hardly clueless. He's well versed in combat sports and did PRIDE for a while.. and btw Gus Johnson was football and basketball before MMA.

Ranallo knows a lot, but his voice and volume bothers me.  I watched some of his interviews and he just doesn't let people answer without jumping in to interrupt every five seconds.

I didn't know Johnson did football before MMA.  I noticed him first from SF, then when I saw him on football I was like "Oh no..."

That was one thing when the UFC absorbed SF.  We knew some fighters were definitely going to get a chance in the UFC, but the announcing team was left out in the rain.

Yeah the Gus Johnson selection was from a pure money standpoint. CBS knew mainstream fans liked Gus Johnson doing college basketball so naturally they thought "hey let's throw him in there". Was so corny and I like Johnson.

Personally Ranallo and Schiavello get me so amped up. Hearing Ranallo call all the Diaz fights in Strikeforce had me

Goldberg is cool with me but I wouldn't mind a change every now and then, and God no to Anik and Florian. They don't get me hyped at all.

Aside from the usual goldberg and rogan, stann would be the next choice for commentator. How about chael sonnen? Haha.

In other news, silva's manager says spider will be back. Read that in bleacher report.

Hyun is a savage. That final round finish :smh:

Great work by Tarrec despite running flat in the last round. I don't know if he gassed or had a adrenaline dump in the 4th when he was pressing to finish but he almost let Hyun back in at the end there. First 3 rounds he looked nice and sharp though. Skill set wise he's like Martin Kampmann 2.0. I can def see him working his way into title contention. Maybe Matt Brown next??

I'd like to see Chael doe some commentary.

Anyone remember when Mauro grew his hair out a few years ago? Don't know if he got hairplugs but it looked weird. A few months later he just shaved his head.

I think Chael and Bas are great in what they currently do. The studio talk shows suit them and I'm not sure how well they'd do as live action analysts.

Yeah, keep Chael as an analyst.  The guy can clearly talk, but play by play is another animal.  I wouldn't want to hear his style as a play by play guy.

I'll believe Silva coming back when I see it.  I gotta think that 5-10 years ago, that leg doesn't break on that kick check.  If this was a different injury, a broken hand, sprain, muscle pull, etc. then maybe we can talk.  But two leg bones completely snapping?  How does a guy at that age come back from that to compete?  If anyone can do it, it's the superhuman Silva, but that's a daunting task.

It was a shame the Gil/Khabib fight got called off. A scrap with Diaz would make up for it, but not sure Diaz wants that.
