Grant is getting screwed here. Dude got concussed in September and has been basically in hiding since. Not even a word if he is back training yet. Can't be good...
 
According to an article dated on Jan. 8th from ESPN, Grant still hasn't been cleared to train due to the concussion. What in the world? I've never heard of a concussion keeping a guy out this long.

If Pettis can't return til late Summer then I could see a Gilbert v Khabib title eliminator. Gil last fought in October, so waiting for a title shot, especially if Pettis can't compete until late Summer will be a long hiatus. It sounds like Pettis is jumping the gun on his return.

Brian Roberts, Justin Morneau, and Sidney Crosby all had concussion lay-offs this long, I think. But they don't get punched in the head for a living...

Pettis does seem like a kid that would try to push his rehab to the limit to get back in the cage, but I doubt we see him before August.

Damb, how long were their layoffs? Did Grant suffer multiple concussions? I mean that would make more sense, but to not be cleared for 4-5 months due to a single concussion-- that's pretty crazy no matter what you do for a living.
 
Pretty sure Roberts and Morneau missed the better parts of MLB seasons, while Crosby was feeling the effects for almost a year, maybe more.

I remember reading Grant got the concussion while rolling, assuming it was his first one, but who really knows.
 
Concussions are tricky. You never know how someone is going to respond to getting one. I don't know what's going on with Grant but he probably has post concussion syndrome which can occasionally last for more than a year. Chris Pronger on the Flyers got a concussion in 2011, and he still gets headaches, has the eyes of a 60 year old according to his doctor, and has terrible peripheral vision. 
 
pettis probably would have won that had it gone to decision

it's still weird to see that aldo is the co-main event regardless of who barao is fighting, i understand that barao vs dom was champ vs champ but it was still weird

Pettis had that fight won no doubt, gotta suck to lose with 20 seconds. It's only a matter of time before people start chirping that he move down to flyweight. He looks tiny though.

Pettis was definitely more impressive this time out. Only 20 years old...
 
He moved down the featheweight and has looked pretty good, this being his third fight in the division

I can't believe he's 27
 
If Cruz was 100% it wouldn't be a question for me, but we all know he was going to have ring rust and possible regression from all the surgeries

I remember when Morneau got his concussion, seemed like he was out for a year. I kept wondering when he was going back to play.

That was at 145 right? Like Vincent said if Cruz was 100% it would be a no brainer.. But I'm not sure bout Cruz anymore :x dude can't stay healthy and Faber has been beasting since the drop. But I got Barao beating him again.
