The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Be comedy if Aldo just wrestle***** Pettis when they fight. Dana would probably cut him on the spot

Trujillo definitely has some new fans after that fight, including me :pimp: . I kinda like Aldo's technical style, dude isn't tentative as some sherdoggers was saying. I just think he was more cautious and not trying to blow his wad, especially while lamas was throwing those ViToRT kicks

I wonder why team alpha male fighters always come short in title fights. Three of their fighters who last fought for a title was finished in round 1 (faber vs barao, benavidez vs mighty mouse, chad mendes vs jose aldo). Must be some kind of curse hahaha.

Btw joseph benavides vs tim elliott was added to ufc 172. And jessica eye is suspended for a year because of failed drug test.

I swear I watch every UFC event but when it comes to 125'ers its always "who is that guy?". Except for Mighty Mouse, Benavides, Pickett, Dodson and Uncle Creepy it feels like most of them are unknown. Probably why Mighty Mouse is always gonna be relegated to defending his belt on TUF finales or UFC on Fox cards unless he's co-main eventing another ppv with another championship fight.

I was calling for that Cowboy Barboza fight a while ago. Wow

Cerrone trying to get paid. FOTN, KOTN, SOTN..... he needs to make it fun.

After he tastes a couple leg kicks though he might settle for a decision

Aldo should be out for blood since he won't be defending a belt for once. His safe fighting seems to stem from not wanting to lose the belt as opposed to having to win the belt. Plus with fighting bigger guys, I have a feeling this will open Aldo up more in terms of his killer instinct we saw in the WEC. The reason Aldo could fight safe at 145 is because nobody can really threaten him and he is so technical he could fight not to lose. I don't think he could fight that way at 155.

Anthony Johnson will make his return at UFC 172 against Phil Davis. I could see Davis serving as insurance to Glover, in case Glover gets injured.

Please GAWD let Rumble miss weight.

Horrible fight for Davis.

Unranked Rumble after 'beating' Machida??

Well even though Rumble can throw, Davis via decision or sub would be the smart bet.

Davis grinds that out and gets a decision or late sub.

Good for Johnson though, he made it back to the big show, 35 pounds heavier....

Khabib finally has a fight! Against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 11. RDA was scheduled to fight Rustam Khabilov at UFC 170 but Kabilov got injured.

That Fox 11 card in April with Khabib/RDA, Werdum/Browne and Cowboy/Barboza

If Aldo doesn't vacate the belt to fight Pettis, the winner of Khabib/RDA will most likely be your #1 contender.

Gilbert and Nate Diaz have no one to fight now other than Bendo and TJ Grant whenever he gets healthy.

Sometimes managers and coaches ruin everything. Aldo's coach and manager Andre Pederneiras wants a catchweight fight at 150 lbs instead of 155 lbs so Aldo could keep his belt at 145.
"(A catchweight) would be interesting for both," Pederneiras said. "They would keep the belts and do the fight everybody wants to see. Nobody wants to take the other’s title, we want to see the fight and do a great show for everybody. Aldo would move up a little, Pettis cuts a little, and it’s good for everybody."

I don't have a problem with that at all. Pettis was already going to do the cut to 145 so it's not like they're imposing that stipulation to wriggle out of the deal.

As long as I see the fight, I could give a **** about the pomp and circumstance around it.

I get that it will muddle up the title picture for each division for a bit, but there aren't really any other fighters I want to see these guys fight.

Doubt it will happen though.
