A friend that trained with me in Thailand is an instructor and fighter at the Nogueira MMA gym in Dubai. I'll have to hit him up and see if he was in the house for the decapitation.

Main event was a little predictable. Guida vs kawajiri was more fun to watch.

Is nogueira still alive though? Hahaha.
Please retire, Big Nog mean.gif

Yes. One of the biggest legends of the sport is still alive after taking a brutal KO... mean.gif

Hate to see Nog go out like that but I don't ever need to see him fight in the cage again.

I didn't see him get up even after the announcement of the winner. I hope he's ok though.

Just like everybody says, I hope he retires. Nothing else to prove and he'll just take a lot of damage.

Rousey v Alexis Davis at UFC 175 on July 5th.

Assuming this is gonna be the co-main event to Weidman v Machida. Unless all of the other fighters commenting are right, when they say Weidman won't be ready by then.

Its time for Nog to retire but supposedly his manager is saying he wants a fight with Mir next. Maybe as a retirement fight. Wouldn't necessarily be against this as long as its a retirement fight for both.

And Josh Barnett is calling out Nog saying he wants another fight.

Love her or hate her, Rousey will defend that belt whenever she is asked, even with Hollywood calling. I'm impressed.

Don't think Davis' BJJ really has anything to offer though...

The ONLY fight I would watch Big Nog in right now is a third Mir fight. As dumb as it sounds, Nog deserves a shot at redemption.

I had read those were his numbers as well but then when you look at what he earned his last two fights, it's 15.

Spong my *****, I hate it had to be him sick.gifmean.giftired.gif
post #2147 of 34108

^Just saw that. I wonder if fighters are gonna a start to overreact now and won't throw kicks. First Silva, now Spong.

And for anyone that has FightPass is it really that bad? I mean even Jon Jones is on twitter asking for a free hookup to get it.

Damn! That was rough. Feel bad for Spong. Dude is so damn talented.

Saki is my guy, though...

Funy thing is, before even the Silva break, I always thought that the leg break thing would happen to Saki.

He throws kicks so hard, sometimes with no set up, and I have seen him catch some hard checks. Maybe it is because he throws them kinda weird it hasn't happen but Sakie gotta watch it.

I'll will now hold my breath every time Aldo throws too. mean.gif

Maybe its time mma and kick boxers start doing like muay thai fighters and kick banana trees to toughen their shins. I remember seeing it on a National Geographic show.

The tree kicking thing starts at 0:55:

Or they can try kicking heavy bags filled with sand. Hurts at first cause it feels like kicking a rock. Those banana trees look 'softer' but I've never tried kicking one before so I don't know how it feels. Never been attacked by a tree as Mr. Miyagi said.

I actually thought Jon Jones would be the next one to break his leg because of kicks. His and Anderson's legs are two of the thinnest legs I've seen among big people.

Dustin Poirier this Wednesday

Travis Browne, Barboza/Cerrone on Saturday

:hat

Will try to enjoy these fights and the Jones/Glover card because after that the cards look pretty bland for a while

Starting to think that the Silva v Sonnen fight isn't gonna happen. Sonnen is calling out Rich Franklin. Its like they're already looking for replacements for Silva.

I don't think "they" are looking for replacements. I'm sure a Sonnen/Silva bout is about the best payout "they" could hope for, so it wouldn't make sense to actively try to replace Silva. It's more Sonnen acting up as usual and talking trash to keep interest in another potential match just in case Silva pulls out. Sonnen's been saying all along that Silva will fake an injury or do something to back out of the fight.

I hear you on that whole "they" thing, VVH...

Sonnen/Silva is happening. Chael is a master promoter, he had his check written for this Wandy fight before Rashad smashed him. Dude knows what he is doing.
