The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

I thought Green would have been outclassed today but he showed me a lot.

I think he's just out-athleting his opponents right now. If he is willing to learn and applies what he learns he can be a problem

Didn't get to watch the fights yet, went to the Phillies game

, from what I'm hearing the card was great. But a lot of people online are criticizing Brown for faking a nut shot. Was it that bad? And how'd Rumble Johnson look?

Missed the fake nut shot so I can't comment.

As for Rumble, you could literally see Lil Nog's soul leave his body after he ate those punches from Johnson.

Rumble looks absolutely scary in there!!! Dude should've been a LHW the entire time

I still remember seeing him get choked out by rich clemente. He's come a long way and resurrected his career. Crazy that he struggled at 170 but is now one of the most dangerous guys at 205.

Its still unbelievable to me that Rumble use to cut down to 170 lbs. I remember him fighting Arlovski at HW while is WSOF

Rumble is going to retire Lil' Nog. The strikes he hit Davis with in Baltimore legitimately inspired fear. Mr. Wonderful wanted no parts of the Octagon after a round.
Felt it, man. As long as Rumble remains motivated and humble, absolute problem at 205. No one wants to feel his power and he showed takedown D against neutralizing his striking.

Yeah, it saved his ***. He was hurt pretty bad after kick to the body and he faked like it was low, ref gave him time and everything. Kick was nowhere close to low neither. It was desperation move that worked for him.

Can't tell if its official or just wishful thinking but Helwani, Frankie, and others are tweeting about Frankie v Cub main eventing the next UFC on Fox in Dec.

So @illphillip  & @Vincent Van Ho  you two will have a definitive answer to who should be ranked higher after the match.

Lol I think we can all agree that Frankie/Cub is a fight that should happen regardless of who's ranked where. If it goes to decision, you have to think favor Frankie.

That division is just ridiculous.

As far as the first Hendricks/Lawler scrap, it was pretty close. Not mad that they gave it to Hendricks.

For whatever reason, Aldo and Bigg Rigg are two fighters I could never align with. I'd like to see both get dethroned by Mendes and Robbie. Although Ruthless has the far better chance.

WEC Aldo was a force I couldn't help but support, it was like watching a lion. UFC Aldo on the other hand, the point fighting/conservative Aldo I would not mind seeing dethroned one bit.

Props to bobby green, rumble, and ruthless for outstanding performances.

Can't wait to see rumbles next matchup

Really impressed by Rumble but who is there for him to fight? Jones is fighting DC, Gus is out and probably won't fight again until he gets a title shot, Glover is fighting Davis, Rashad is hurt and even when he comes back they won't fight. I guess he could get the winner of Bader/OSP or if DC wins and Jones gets an immediate rematch he can get Gus.

Rumble said he'd fight the winner of Bader/OSP to stay active, or fill in if DC or Jones gets injured. Evans seems to be really close with Rumble since they train together so I doubt they'd ever fight.

Is glover vs davis finalized yet?

I'd personally rather watch glover & rumble than that. Glover & davis would be a snoozefest

The winner of bader/OSP doesn't really make sense IMO

I haven't read anything official on Davis v Teixeira.

A Teixeira/Rumble brawl would be awesome but the UFC doesn't really like making fights with a guy coming off a loss, so Rumble/Tex might not make any sense either. Tex got destroyed by Jones it wasn't even close.

Both Bader and OSP are already top 10, so the winner of that fight will be an appropriate opponent and make sense to stay active. Why wouldn't it make sense?
