I think they've kinda given up on 177. If they get 200k buys for the ppv they'd be happy. From what a lot of people are reporting they're focused on 178 and are gonna announce a big co-main event that should drastically increase ppv buys. Idk why but I'm thinking its Diaz v Rory. Diaz is probably the only fighter now that could drive ppv numbers up. Silva can't fight until Feb according to ufc, GSP is recovering from ACL surgery and on his sabbatical, Rousey is probably still recovering from her knee and hand injuries plus they want her vs Carano in Dec, and all other champs are booked.
 
Looks like the UFC updated their rankings, they put Cub ahead of Frankie

I still have Frankie by UD in his fight with Cub though. Don't think Cub will be able to out box Frankie and I don't think Cub will be able to really touch Frankie's chin, too quick.

Rashad Evans was on the Ariel show today:

-Said he wouldn't fight Rumble

-Said he recently sat down with Jon Jones and sort of hashed things out

-Doesn't know who he wants to fight but wants to return in FEB (thought about Glover, but it doesn't matter to him)

-Would like to fight Jon Jones again, expects to fight DC at some point (looks at DC like a brother)

DC and Diamond went to the same high school in Louisiana, crazy. Now they're both headlining a UFC card in September. Cajuns will be hyped that night.

DC says he will reach out to Machida and Anderson to train for Jon Jones. Interesting.
 
DC has a torn LCL and a partially damaged ACL. 

If Silva and DC would've trained together years ago that would've been so beneficial to Silva's career. He was already dominant but his wrestling was always his weakness.

DC said he would be disappointed in Jones if the knee wasn't targeted. Respect to DC, he aint round about in anything he says
 
DC going to try to hug Jones and not get kicked all night. What I'm afraid of. DC already saying he doesn't think the reach advantage is going to matter which means you know what the strategy is... grind fest.
 
It's easier said than done.

Going to be a lot different when he gets in the cage and that 84 inch reach is a reality. DC is slowed compared to Bones. He will eventually get in and when he does Bones is going down but he is going to have to chase him for a bit.

How awesome would it be to see Bones go immediately for a takedown of his own? Going to be a great matchup, can't wait.

I didn't even know that Joe Riggs was back in UFC and was supposed to be fighting Paulo Thiago in Sept. Either way he's out of the fight. He shot himself in the hand and thigh while cleaning his gun.
 
Speaking of MMA surprises, I forgot to mention that I watched Phil Baroni and Karo Parisian fight this past Friday night in Bellator.

And it was as unbearable as you might expect. Karo won 1st RD TKO.

Masvidal/Green is a great fight. I just worry that both are counter punchers, so it could have it's slow moments. Though Green definitely initiates more that Jorge.

How hurt was Thompson after his fight with Green? Could he and Cerrone go? That's actually a good fight for both for where they are.

The GOAT returns, gets another fight or two smashes Wiedman gets his belt then goes after Jones.
