The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

i actually think that rumble can put the pressure on jones in a way that no one else can athletically

whether or not he wins is another story

I haven't seen one lead left hook, uppercut by DC the whole night. Dc should've studied that JJ/Tyson video (super serious btw). To beat JJ you gotta stay in tight and rip on those tight punches ala hooks and uppercuts. I still believe Gustafson brought the toughest challenge. Dc comes second but he respected Jon too much ( cmon you slam Jon on the 5th rd, but not earlier?). I'm afraid that that's DC's last title and only title shot in the UFC. I'll be rooting for Gustafson on the rematch.

The body Work Jones put in should be taught to every fighter across the board. It rendered DC defenseless in the last 2 rounds.

Again, another fighter who can only throw with one hand. Smh such a disappointment to see a pro not be able to do anything except jab with their weaker hand

Cormier made me a fan tonight. I thought he did better then the judges thought, but Jones won that fight based off the takedowns. Jones pissed me off at the end, I hope Cormier gets a rematch and knocks him out.

Jon Jones is a **** with those push kicks to the knee and the sneaky shoulder lock from the clinch lol.

Just too damn good.

Honestly, don't see the problem with any of those techniques

Guys go in there trying to break limbs and choke people unconscious

yeah those are savvy techniques and quite honestly I wish more fighters would adopt them.

Cormier is definitely a monster and a hell of a wrestler/athlete, but Jones was just too big and strong for him as well. DC exerted double the energy of jones just covering the distance...poor guy. He was just physically mismatched at too great of a magnitude

Dc thought his wrestling was going to overwhelm jones. it felt like he forgot about actually trying to fight and win the title and wanted to score some takedown points. very disappointed, it may have been fatigue, but still. he's not gonna get another shot at jones unless it is way down the line. it felt like neither of them really hurt one another

So, all these stories about DC outwrestling Cain in practices are made up I'm assuming

Cain in the crowd plotting against Bones

Totally different when you're wrestling with wrestling shoes on and you're not exhausted.

DC would demolish Jones and Cain in a real wrestling match, but wrestling=/=MMA wrestling.

Watched the fights at Bdubs. Went there at 7:30 thinking I was early but couldn't get a single seat at the bar till 8:45. Anyway I thought the main card was kinda disappointing and I was expecting a better performance from Jones.

I think DC messed up in that he should've been shooting for takedowns during the first 2 rounds when he still had energy if thats what he really wanted to win by...dude was going for takedowns in the end when he shouldve been throwing for a KO

Doubt they're made up.

I honestly believe DC is a different fighter at HW. Ya'll forget how he was man handling everybody?

Dude had impressive stamina as well.

I honestly think 205 was a detriment in this kind of high paced fight.

Plans go out the window when you're getting punched and kicked in the head/body

Cowboy disappointed if anything. He's talking now, admits he sucked

Let's get Khabib v Cowboy next, Khabib will destroy him for a title shot

I think you'd still be able to still plan after getting hit if youre a professional fighter considering you'd fight almost everyday during training and all...
True but man, I'll give Bones more credit than anything for taking DC out of his element

Don't matter if you're a pro or not when you're facing someone like Jones

I thought it was close too, but you have to give close rounds to the champ.  Overall you got to beat the champ to take the belt, if this was non title fight. It could of easily been 3-2 DC depending on how you judge your fights.
