Idk. I just re-watched Aldo vs Mendes 2 twice. Mendes was eating Aldo alive with the boxing and Mendes has little T-Rex arms compared to Conor.

Not only that but Conor's mind games have worked. Aldo is going to come out swinging and that's what Conor wants. Aldo is emotional. Same way the fans are. Like any of this is real lol.

Hate to say it but I think Conor destroys Aldo. Counter boxing and finishes by the second round.

Now whether or not Conor can stay the champ with the wrestlers being top contenders in line for the next shot, idk.

But I have a feeling we will have a new champ by July.

When the fight was first announced, Aldo broke in the -180 to -200 range. Pretty favorable odds for the champ when you factor in Conor's unproven takedown defense and untested basic jiu-jitsu.

Work with "Bang" improved Mendes' boxing tenfold. We saw it against Guida, Elkins, and the Aldo rematch. Movement and distance will be two monstrous factors between McGregor and Aldo. Another question is how often and willing will Aldo be with his offensive wrestling? Landing the takedown followed by ground and pound, testing Conor off his back in open guard.

McGregor could jump to 155 immediately, win or loss. Kavanagh said it during the Siver buildup. Making 145 is challenging for Conor, and he has his eyes on lightweight.

Agreed Champ. Stupid pool parties at Encore Beach got me too faded to do anything during the day time :{ I think the Conor hype is getting too high but Aldo will humble him. I do like Conor  though, he is freaking hilarious.

Damn, 90% of NT thinks Conor bout to get washed

Count me in that 10% that disagrees and maybe that 1% who think Conor might just win this damn thing

Conor might not "hit" as hard as Mendes but he sure does have more technical striking with hands and legs/feet. Not weak by any means

This right here.

That TMA stance eats leg kicks all day. It's extremely hard to check leg kicks from that stance, and nobody has mentioned the fact that McGregor is a southpaw and his lead leg will be eating kicks from Aldo's rear leg which is the power roundhouse.

The one difficulty I could see Aldo having is actually being able to plod down McGregor to land these kicks. McGregor is really nimble and quick, has a great feel for his range and he will not stand directly in front of Aldo for long.

The thing is we have been down this road with Aldo before.

Faber was suppose to take him out in the WEC---gets washed

Florian dropping down to 145 was suppose to take him out----easy W

NT's favorite Edgar was suppose to be the guy----easy W

Conor is going into this fight has way more question marks and less credentials than any of these previous giant killers.

-Conor got me so pissed off I forget that lame Rory gonna get his head knocked ouff too that night smokin.gif

We've also been down the road before where said Champ's next opponent is going to get washed and we see the opposite happen

There's no point in comparing those situations IMO

Judge if you want Conor's resume and it's fair to point out it lacks big name W's. From what I've seen in his fights, his skill set, his size, I don't think he's going to get washed at all

Plus I don't think all of that is accurate anyway: Faber (WEC), Florian and Edgar were supposed to win? Not buying any of that. I don't think there's much of a movement saying Conor "is the guy". I really don't see that at all. Most folks have Aldo winning

Conor definitely doesn't get washed just off size length and boxing abilities alone. Should be an interesting fight. Aldo was more aggressive than usual against Mendes but let's not forget this was the same dude that people were basically calling boring prior to that when he decisioned hominick, edgar, florian, lamas, and essentially Chan sung Jung without the injury.

Conor has a decent chance which actually really bothers me because I dude is a little too extra. I'm hoping Aldo works him but I wouldn't be shocked if it was alot closer than people seem to think it's gonna be.

Damb

"It has definitely been my most difficult period in life so far," Gustafsson told Swedish newspaper Expressen. "I was completely serious about quitting MMA. I don't care really about the title, it was that it happened in front of my home crowd. My cousins were in place. It just took it too hard. I didn't have the will to continue. I was really close to quitting. But I have received so much love from fans, loved ones and my team."

"I had to bite the sour apple and now I have a new fight that made me very motivated," said Gustafsson. "If I had not wanted to do this anymore, I would have stopped. But I want to continue. There is no doubt about it. No one is forcing me. I'm not doing this for money, but to be the best in the world."

I dont think ppl appreciate how good aldo really is.

He's possibly the most complete fighter in the world right now.

#2 p4p in the world, fool hasn't lost in 10 YEARS! 18 STRAIGHT!!!!! nerd.gif

if he was 6'4 I believe he would beat jones.

Aldo is a TRUE complete mixed martial artist, every aspect of his game is just as good as the other, no weak links. + He still in his 20's!

Another moot point alot of ppl talk about when discussing aldo....KNOCKOUTS/FINISHES

Dude when your the Champion for as long as Aldo has been, you ALWAYS fight the divisions best, EVERY TIME (10 years and counting).

Its rare that championship fights end early based purely off the fact both fighters are EXTREMELY good (unless the contender was just weak)...neither are prone to make amatuer mistakes and both are on top of their game.

getting dominated 5 rounds >>> getting dominated 3 rounds>>>>sub >>>>> ko >>>>>split decision .

Aldo just goes out there and dominates guys exactly how Jones does, shuts them completely down for 25 minutes. Some guys win a round or 2, but thats about it man.

All aldo has been doing for 10 years is DEFENDING

he doesnt have to go out and knock peoples heads off, thats the CONTENDERS job, all aldo has to do is successfully defend whatever the contender throws at him, and thus far hes done it fairly easy and in impressive fashion.

Im telling you, if you watch mma bet the house on aldo....

We arent even talking about aldo's BJJ/wresting! If he decides too he will take conor to the ground and drown him.

plus we haven't even seen Conor go 5 rounds in the UFC yet! Cmon man, conor is not a smart bet at all.

Im not trying to convince people aldo is better/will win, just posting facts.

Aldo is CLEARLY the better fighter.

They don't tink like I tink.

I'd love to rematch the world tour with he true Aldo translations. You can just tell they're not expressing the amount of vitriol and venom that he's been saying in Portuguese.

The fight is going to be insane after touching Aldo's neck and taking the belt. Hopefully, Aldo keeps his cool in the first two rounds.

Can't wait for the main event tomorrow.

But that Aldo vs Conor bout is gonna be epic. The UFC promoting the hell out of it and it's a ways out still. Conor as much as I think he's a clown he's a hell of a promotor.. dudes gonna get murdered though. Them Aldo leg kicks gonna have Conor crawling by the end of the night. Now I do think Conor does have a chance, but he hasn't fought anyone really elite yet.. so we haven't really seen him tested. Aldo has been through all the top contenders in the division.

Well then it's a good fight for Connor. This will definitely test his skills.

I heard on the MMA Report that Connor possibly tweaked his knee training with Rory McDonald.

Hopefully, injuries don't derail that card. No disrespect to Lawler/McDonald.

There just might be real tears shed in this thread if Aldo loses

It's pointless to say "if such and such was a certain height he'd...." :lol

I think the MMA world appreciates the greatness of Aldo. Who doesn't appreciate his greatness?

I DVRd it last night, was FFding to the weigh ins for the last 2 fights, saw her strip down and.....hol' up.

A bit worried about Masvidal. Never seen a fighter hit the stage in his sauna suit. But according to Cormier/Kenny, being 1/2 pound or so over was likely the result of a slight miscalculation.

Was on the road for 10 straight days and got home at 12:30am. Kind of loving my lazy afternoon with a live UFC card right now.

What ever happened to Maynard???? This dude was suppose to be a champion contender, no he's on prelims and getting dominated. SMH
