The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

diaz basically saying he wasn't 100% sure he wanted to fight silva to Joe :smh:

those two girls in the assistance though :nerd:

I think he was saying before every fight he stops and ask himself "what I'm I doing" aka, he questions whether he wants to really fight

with the way he fought, it just makes me think that he doesn't want to fight nomore and was just there to cash the cheque (like a lot of guys said in here).

It's obvious that silva had a TON of pressure on him during this fight...he played it really safely and I think it might take 2 or 3 more wins for him to get his confidence and comfort in the octagon again

Lowkey diaz might have gotten some extra cash in his pocket by lorenzo to throw the fight... there was something off about his fighting tonight idk it seemed like he let a lot of openings go

this is why i aint paid for this **** in 5 years

I kind of slept on the main event leading up to this event.

When Anderson Silva + Nick Diaz started throwing punches at each other, it dawned on me what I was watching.

Didn't turn into what I hoped.

But we also need to remember how much work Nick has done at 170 and that Anderson has humiliated 205ers.

Good to see both back and hopefully this fight sends both on to bigger and better things.

Main event went as I expected, UFC played it safe for Anderson's comeback fight and Nick showed up just to collect a check.

If Anderson still wants to fight, I wouldn't mind seeing Silva vs. Mousasi.

Nick walked down Shamrock with no fear

Swung with Daily like it was nothing

Chased Carlos all around the cage

I didn't see any of those guys in the cage tonight

He got clipped in first round by a straight right that basically took all the fight out of him.
He knows he would have gotten knocked out, if he let his hands go like normal Nick Diaz does.

Anderson was so much faster than Nick it was ridiculous. And then to see spider half clenching Nick and pushing him around with one arm in close, while taking punches.
[emoji]128514[/emoji] Nick packed it in. Early.

Benson vs Brandon Thatch new main event at UFC Fight Night 60. Benson moving up to 170
Whoa. Thank God there's a replacement, Benson getting his Cowboy on

Nick v Spider was highly sad to me. I realized these dudes just aint how I remember them. Nick out there not really trying to win. Anderson out there looked pretty damn good coming off such a devastating injury but if I'm honest with myself I don't think he'll ever get to the level I want him to. Especially if he meets Weidman again. He is getting pretty old and what else does he have to prove? I don't want him to get a 3rd fight with Weidman because it's going to end badly. I'd rather have him just retire tbh

Well...lucky for him, Weidman is hurt so we can be spared of another TKO/injury.

I don't really know who they can put him against next. He would kill contenders if they pit him against Rockhold, Jacare, Machida, Belfort, etc. Also, unlike the HW division, there is a big log jam to the MW title picture thanks to Weidman's injury.

Seriously...Cain, Cruz, Weidman and Pettis are way to prone to injury. I just don't understand how Lawler or Cowboy do it.

UFC really needs to take a look at these weight cuts and fight camps.

Do you mean kill contenders as in he would dominate those guys or meaning he would waste a contender fight?

He'd Okami those guys possibly knocking them out of title contention which would affect their bottom line.

I can't say he'd dominate those guys. They're all pretty good. Machida and Belfort (cough cough Brazillians cough cough) are one dimensional so stylistically Anderson has a shot. Rockhold I don't know. It's possible though since Anderson is a good counter striker.

Again, is that what UFC wants? It's the same issue with Faber.

I don't see it that way bro. I don't think Anderson is back to God mode to be able to say he'd Okami those guys, especially Rockhold.

Anderson himself acting like he doesn't know what he wants to do. Don't think the hunger is there to fight for a title tbh, his body language leading up to tonight and after the fight lead me to believe his mindset is elsewhere. I feel like he just wanted to prove to himself that he could come back and not end his career on that sour note

Dana saying he has a replacement to offer to Vitor. Who could this be? Rockhold and Machida are scheduled to fight, they pull one of them?
