is rory all natural? no accusations... just wondering how self righteous you can be until you F up yourself. see jon jones for reference.

all that being said UFC is actually still going to be just fine. they are clearly not ever going to be the fastest growing sport or the biggest sport in the world but that was just dana white hyperbole. fox won't drop them. fertitta will make sure there's no monopoly problem. and everything else will blow over. everyone does drugs.

I tend to agree. Combat sports is here to stay for a while. It will always be at least as popular as it was pre UFC 100. Still enough to make some money but just not break into the next level

What I see being a problem though is that pesky fighter pay. The sport may hit a plateau in terms of revenue while the athletes may be yearning for a bigger cut

that's where the not Monopoly kicks in. the market is what UFC pays them. they could go the Tim Sylvia route and just get one 1 million dollar pay day but i think that's over as it didn't pay off for -- was in RockStar energy drinks or something?

fighters who complain about pay will get cut or will get fed to young upstarts that are horrible match-ups. Hopefuly Dana gets less transparent about being a spiteful prick but the UFC will be just fine.

2014 was a horrible year for the UFC so I don't really blame them for some of the moves they made lately. I'm not a big fan of the CM Punk deal but it does bring on a whole new audience that will tune in just to see him get his face broken. They need to get a grasp on how to handle the steroid situation. The commission dishes out suspensions when a guy pissed hot but the UFC needs to start implementing bans for positive tests.

or Dana White could just not make a huge deal out of guys who piss hot (when he doesn't like them or if they bother him personally) and then make light of guys who piss hot but are champs or his cash cows. Dana just needs to stop being so extreme because it is messing with the sport.

McGregor is a great add. All the injuries are soon going to be par for the course and we'll expect it. Dana just needs to ****.

It feels like recently they put a muzzle on Dana. He hasn't been really saying much and he doesn't do a lot of scrums after events anymore. Maybe it has a lot to do with the anti-trust lawsuit.

He's still sounding off on Vitor... I mean Vitor could be the interim middleweight champ soon and Dana is bashing him. But yeah, I agree they put a muzzle on him at least compared to a year ago.

So not all UFC fighters are getting ****** pay cause a report by Bloody Elbow is saying UFC is withholding a $6M payment to A.Silva until the NSAC makes its final rulings on his PED case. He was supposed to get $600k to show, $200k win bonus, and more than $5M for his ppv points.

Yeah I seen this on Bleacher Report which makes me wonder how much they give Anderson when it comes to PPV revenue. I remember when Brock fought they had said he gets usually 2-3 dollars a buy for PPV's so that would mean 500K buys equals $1 Million if its $2 per buy.

Not sure how much Silva makes from ppv but I know that it's a tiered system. From when Alvarez and Bellator were in court, the documents said UFC offered him "$1 for each 'buy' between 200,000 and 400,000 buys, $2 per buy between 400,000 and 600,000 buys, and $2.50 per buy over 600,000 buys."

Have to assume that Silva who was champion for a long time and was proven to be a ppv draw would have a much better deal than the one offered to Alvarez. Plus who knows if any special bonuses were given to him. Like when Dana gave Machida a bonus personal check for beating Tito.

The select few get paid. Jones, GSP etc. No doubt they're millionaires

DJ wants $2M to fight Dillashaw? :smh:

Real bold coming from a guy that has zero ability to market a fight.

I don't blame him.

That's the flip side to the UFC not wanting a pay structure/scale for fighters. When a fighters get feed scraps for so long, I don't blame them for trying to bleed the UFC when they can

Try and get dem checks lil fella :smokin

And lets keep it #1HUNNA, TJ isn't marketable at all either

Maybe he should wear a mouse costume for the fight.
He can't unless it's made by Reebok.

Silva did sign a new contract in 2013. I know JBJ signed a contract last year. Man, he must have made cake off the DC fight, enough to fund many a coke-driven night.

And honestly, the contract system of the UFC doesn't make sense for pro fighters. And besides GSP/Brock, they haven't had a big mainstream sports star capable of generating 1 million buys.

I'll say it again, they need to market a lot of these fighters the way they did McGregor.

Yeah UFC needs to market some of these guys better but a lot of them need to market themselves better.

Mighty Mouse should start following Rousey's plan when it comes to deciding when to fight. Rousey knows that she doesn't really sell ppvs as the main event so she tries to get on a big card as the co-main. Thats why she wanted to get on the Jones/DC card but eventually got on the Weidman/Belfort one. Sonnen even said he did the same thing and fought to get on the GSP/Hendricks ppv cause he knew that gsp's card would sell and make him more money.

Yeah Ronda has always fought on stacked cards. Her selling power is gonna get exposed at UFC 184 though.

One time I heard Dana brag about Ronda selling million PPVs for a event. He left out that the Silva v. Weidman rematch was the headliner that night  :smh:

Nobody paying to see women fight. We will see though in a few weeks

That card is going to tank. There's like no promo for the main event. Like I said, no hype from UFC. Rhonda has a highlight reel of arm bars, judo throws and an occasional good strike plus she's been in Hollywood movies. They could easily throw videos together gassing up Cat. Her last two wins were come from behind wins, where she overcame adversity.

Sell the fighters not the stupid league. The fighters/matchups are what sell the cards.

I actually feel like Cat is the first legit opponent for Ronda. Anyone know if they're similar in size? I feel like Cat is pretty large

I never pay anyway, I just watch free cards but the strawweight division has had entertaining fights.

I hope Cat puts up a good fight. Like her and her purple hair.
