The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

woke up this morning to the disgusting jokes going around the internet about anderson's injury.
not cool man. we as mma fan should be thankful we got to witness first hand one of the greatest fighters of all time. a bitter end to a great legacy. my best wishes go out to anderson.

i dont like weidman very much but dude definitely has all my respect. the guy works his *** off and it showed in this fight. dude is classy and humble. cant take anything away from him.

I think people want to discredit Weidman because he isn't flashy. He doesn't throw cool looking attacks like jon jones and anderson silva and he's not some athletic freak. He's a blue collar fighter that will out-work, out-grind and pummel people.

I think it's more to do with who he beat you know... I mean people ride for Cain and he's cut from a similar cloth.

Fact is people loved watching Anderson put dudes lights out and this guy is the reason that won't be happening anymore.

All these reasons along with how both fights ended.

I still don't understand what the issue with the ending of the first fight was.

Anderson fought the same fight he had many times before, and got KOd.

Then he did the opposite last night....and got floored in the 1st Round.

Only one of the fights had a "bizarre" ending, and even then, Weidman has out-fought him at every possibly oppotunity.

I'm sorry to say this but Silva ain't going to be in this position if he didn't do all that stupid showboating, mocking bull **** in the first fight.

I know he does that every fight but he was doing too much of it during the first fight with weidman

Some people think he did that to frustrate Weidman and to keep it stand up for as long as possible.

Damb, I just stumbled upon Fightville on Netflix. Features Dustin Poirier when he first started fighting in his hometown Louisiana. I'm sure a lot of you have seen it but I just thought it was ironic that I found the documentary right after he beat Diego at UFC 168. It's crazy to see how far he came up and where he came from. Kinda sad to see the other fighter who was featured Albert Stainback, I'm sure he shares the same story as thousands of others who were fighters who never panned out.

Just seeing how hard Dustin worked and how much he really focused on making it I'm not surprised where Dustin is now. Like the dude even more now after the documentary. I hope he fights for the title one day.

Any other docs out there that I should know about? Besides the Anderson Silva one, I watched that one too.

Vitors frame is best suited for 185. He's just jacked so it's accentuated.

Weidman on the other hand is about as big as you can get for 185. He could def have a future at 205.

I just rewatched the vitor jones fight, my god vitor was huge. At this age I think it's hard to say what's his best weight but to me it seems like he can do either no problem

Well he got washed by Jones so there's not much point him being at 205.

He wants a strap before he hangs them up so MW is his best shot. I favour Chris but Vitors confidence is on another level at the moment so i hope he just goes out looking to blast dude.

Yeah vitor really only got close with jones' arm but that doesn't mean he doesn't belong at 205. At the level he's fighting he could give anyone in the world a great challenge, including jones. Before Gus, vitor was the closest man to ever beating jones and man that lock would have defeated most guys. After that he went on a great streak, hopefully it isn't all due to the trt though
