The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

He might throw kicks, Nick doesn't check kicks.

I have a feeling that Andy gonna start joking around dodging punches, that will piss Nick off and Nick gonna flip Andy off. Then Nick starts to pressure Anderson cut gets caught and put to sleep

I'm betting on Nick though. Last time Nick was a huge underdog he swagged all over Samrock and go me paid. I'll out a $100 up to risk him pulling off a upset again
Depending on the odds, not a bad bet

waitwut? So he's just gonna leapfrog Jacare?

:smh:
c'mon Dana/Joe.

C'Mon Dana? After last year's buy rates/gates and poorFox ratings, Dana is going for the money. UFC doesn't have time to be a legit sport.

If it was, Gustafson wouldn't have had to fight Johnson last night. Rory would be the next to challenge Lawler. We wouldn't be joking about Connor/Aldo, etc.

And Silva versus Machida or Sousa would be great. Or even Rockhold. Weidman has a little bit of a line for his belt.

Been a big fan of Diaz and Silva since way back and it sucks to see one of them have to lose, I'm honestly not hyped at all for this fight. They both had way more interesting and relevant matchups in their own weight classes. Anderson could've fought bisping, rockhold or mousassi, and imagine if Nick could've fought Rory, Matt Brown, Lombard or Woodley and worked his way back up to a Robbie Lawler rematch for the belt!? :smh:

Anyway, Bodog has Anderson -400 and Nick +375, seems about right. I think either Nick gets destroyed, or somehow Anderson gets beat by a dude he would've easily destroyed in his prime, either outcome I'm not that excited to see.

c'mon Dana/Joe.

Yeah, that too. Jacare and Rockhold are definitely next in line, and they'd be interesting matchups for Weidman too. The UFC is ****** up all the way around with how they're handling this fight.

As far as Nick goes, yes, I agree with you in terms of there being plenty of other great options for him at WW

As far as Anderson goes, Rockhold is already matched with Machida. Mousasi was already matched with Hendo and also Mousasi was in a bit of a lull. Bisping would have been a complete waste, as he's irrelevant IMO as a contender. Anderson probably has a limited number of fights left in his career, he needs to face relevant and big name guys. Diaz though coming off a loss, was at least in a championship fight and is still a huge name

Ideally yes, a match with Rockhold would have been perfect. But IMO the Diaz match makes a lot of sense as there weren't a lot of other options out there available

I think when the Diaz/Silva fight was made Silva just wanted big/popular fights and opponents. He was saying that he was done fighting for the belt and he was leaving that for Machida and Jacare. But then things changed with Dana saying he'd get a title shot if he won, so his mindset kinda changed and he wanted the MW belt back.

I think Dana could change his mind. Depending on everything that happens with Rockhold/Machida and Jacre/Romero, if one of those 4 looks incredible I could see them getting the next title shot

Depending on how Anderson looks, I mean, if Anderson gets a close decision with Nick and doesn't look all that impressive, I don't think that would automatically put Anderson in a title fight

At this point, the division is REALLY deep...

EVEN if anderson gets a third weidman, let alone beats him....he wont hold the title long.

basically seeing the "jeter" tour for andy, maybe fight 2-3 more times...some big names...all beatable for him...then go out on top.

-or- loose the 3rd to chris and retire.

well see.

Dana was the one pumping this title shot nonsense. And Machida and Jacare were both asked that question. They're both pursuing the title so at this point in time they don't mind fighting Anderson.

Anderson is the one caught in his feelings, acting like they're all not professional fighters, fighting in the same division and in the title picture.

That's why I'll at least give Faber and Dillashaw credit for at least not flat out saying no.

At the same time, I don't want grab butt like Cowboy/Bendo...lol.

I'm looking forward to TRtitor versus Weidman. I feel like Weidman, after JBJ, is the champion who can really carve out a legacy. Pettis can too...but he's always injured.

Yeah Dana definitely shouldn't be pumping a title shot at all, just make it a fun fight for the fans. Hopefully they think twice about that one.

even crazier when you consider the fact he only fought once in 2012 and has only fought twice in the past three years and hasn't won a fight in nearly 4 years.
Very crazy

He should be fresh if anything else, lol

I would say more like 3 years since his last win and he's only fought two times in those three years

Dude is at that point in his career where he can cry until he gets things his way I guess. Just don't put him against a wrestler lol

Can't you see I'm trying to be dramatic?

I'm horrible at math so who knows

Also, look at the 3 other fights on the main card. How the **** does that happen? Those fights are rancid for a PPV

I can't blame people for not wanting to buy the card. Jesus

Just realized Jon Jones' brother will be playing in the Super Bowl, in Arizona. So much coco will be had next Sunday in the desert

Have the weigh-ins scheduled to DVR

Alves/Mein should be good, as well as Lauzon/Iaquinta. But i would have preferred Linekar/McCall on the ppv instead of Leites Boetsch

Weidman is really good.

Still not sold though.

Between Jacare, Gegard, Luke, and Yoel....he got some heavy defending to do.

I really believe if Jacare gets past yoel, he would drown Chris in 5 rounds.

The fights between Silva vs Weidman is the reason I started replacing boxing with MMA in my TV screen recently. I want to see Weidman put in work these next couple fights

I'm not 100% sold on Weidman yet. I think he has the tools to be one of the greats but it feels like he's always hurt. It just doesn't get the coverage like Pettis when he's hurt. Before the Silva fight, he was out with a shoulder injury. Then a knee issue pushed back the Machida fight, and a broken hand pushed back the Belfort fight to next month.
