:::[Official] San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks @ Candlestick 12/08:::

This is exactly what were talking about living in the past. I mentioned last year but even that is a bit of a stretch. How the **** does that 2011 matchup indicate that you can beat us THIS YEAR in the playoffs??? lol delusional

And Alex Smith>Tjack easy...
We're going with that argument again? Same thing was said in the offseason in the Trash Talk thread. Prisoners. Of. The. Moment.

But to answer your question, even though it'll probably get conveniently ignored because that seems to be what you all do. Your greatest asset that comes with playing at home is the noise factor. So what happened on Christmas Eve 2011? Were you guys just not loud enough that day or did Alex Smith and our subpar receiving corps transcend all expectations?

If the Seahawks and 49ers meet in the divisional round. To be honest the past 2 seasons worth of regular season games are irrelevant either way. I would say that if the same was in San Francisco and the 49ers blew the Seahawks out at home the last 2 times they played.

Look at the jets patriots from 2010. New England wins a 45-3 blowout on Monday night. 6 weeks later the jets left New England with a 28-21 win when it counted.

Obviously whoever wins Sunday is making a statement but if they meet in the playoffs all that goes out the window.

If I was Seattle I wouldn't get to cocky off how good they are at home though. No streak lasts forever. Their a great home team but we've seen numerous teams in past years dominate at home all regular season and end up one and done.

Just look at the jets patriots from 2010.

Regular season matters in the sense that it secures home field advantage but with divisional opponents meeting in the playoffs, especially those who don't like eachother all the past games are thrown out the window.

That jets patriots game was a huge huge upset though. If the 49ers won in Seattle in January it would be an upset but it wouldn't be a huge upset in my opinion.

6 pages and like 3 football posts

I think there has been more conversation about large box stores and the NBA. I hope these two meet in the playoffs from strictly a NT perspective

i cant wait for this game. flying out on saturday for it from miami. scored a field pass too since this will probably be my last game at the stick. i'll do my best to post pics when i get back. win or lose, hopefully there will be no fan violence.

way to beat seahawks defense ?

quick , short/intermediate passing game and play action

btw -- this thread delivers

First off Key to the game is wheather the 49ers can get their running game going. So frank is going to have to carry the team then kap can finish them with play action.

Reading this thread some of yall sea fans really think you that great, but if it werent for a couple last minute luck sea would be fighting right now for the number one spot in the nfcw.
But we are where we are and sea is on top, but they can be beaten.

Lastly F the seahawks

The key isn't going to be the run game, it will be can our receiver's beat man coverage enough so Seattle can't stack the box.

I agree thats another key to the game, but what im sayin is if OG frank can get some runs with the box stack like old times, the passing game will greatly benefit from it.

If Seattle stacks the box, our running game will suffer . I don't mean to be pessimistic, but that's been the case this season against good defenses.

Our receivers NEED to get open and soften up their defense enough to allow us to have a run game.

If we can't establish a passing game, Roman will abandon the run game and force passes, and that will get us in trouble and cause CK7 to make mistakes.

Establishing the pass will enable us to be balanced which is what we want to be.

Easier said than done against Seattle.

Just landed in San Fran, looking forward to a great weekend. Hey don't forget JumpmanFromDaBay, drinks are on you champ.

No one can argue that when the big, bad, defensive minded 49ers face another team that is equally big, bad, and tough on defense, the 49ers struggle mightily. They either get beat easily, or its a defensive, low-scoring stalemate game that goes deep into the 4th.

And if it does go deep into the 4th, my money is on Russell the God and the Seahawks.

I think that's probably the most accurate football-related statement in the thread.

Recent SB Success

Niners SB Appearance 2013
Seahawks SB Appearance 2005

History:

Niners 5 rings
Seahawks 0 rings, loudest losers Guinness world record

At present:
Seahawks 11-1
Niners 8-4

We've gone tit for tat the last few years, each home team winning at home. This is is pivotal for bragging rights.

As for the game itself, I'm gonna look for Frank to catch a few passes, at least one first down that way.
I don't know if Krabby is gonna be able to get open as easily as last game, just because we haven't really seen him get bumped around and make cuts, so I'm calling Super Mario to make a few more catches. Anquan gonna Anquan. Vernon is gonna Vernon. Aldon is gonna take Russ to the morgue.

Everyone remember to ahhh-ooohhh. Remember...

jesus h christ, why I am I so late on this thread?

I don't know what's a more recent invention: posting food pictures on instagram or the Seattle seahawks fanbase?

I went to the seahawks/niners game up in seattle two years ago (I'm sure with seahawks fans' selective memory they won't recall Larry Grant gettin skittled that game) and this so-called twelfth man was non-existent. now they wanna talk **** about the niners organization sending an email to its fans when they're the same team that intentionally and actively tries to break the record of "loudest stadium" on a damn near weekly basis...oh noo they broke it at arrowhead, better get starbucks to email the entire city of Seattle!!

my barber is a born and raised in seattle, seahawk fan and I can't stand how much this dude spits when he's clappin his gums about RW3. I get it man, it rains a lot in seattle, stop it already. been going to this dude's chair for almost 4 years and never before was this dude reppin the seahawks until this season. I mean if tavaris Jackson was my qb, I would want Alzheimer's, too

come on seahawks' fans, let's stop lying and saying "oh, the seahawks don't need this game as much." that's just a cop out for when you lose. you know pete ain't trynna lose to Jim and you know you guys aren't trynna let the niners get even more momentum heading into the playoffs.

womp womp womp, tell me all about your loud fan base when Nolan and Singletary were walking the sidelines
theres a reason Century link has the most false start penalty's for opposing teams since 05

I hope mario really steps it up this game, especially since this is the same defense that injured him last year. dude's gotta play with a chip on his shoulder this Sunday and show out.

that all being said, I'm starting kaep this week on my fantasy squad. week one of playoffs. hate this match up for kaep, but never betting against my team.
