just have to laugh at the naive dudes who think they aren't aware of the quality of materials used on GR's. Nike and JB will never drop a dollar into quality materials until their bottom line is hurting because of the cheaper materials.

The company that's worth 2x as much as when Jordan played his last game 10 years ago has all the resources they need and they're going to keep stacking the cash, not improving a nostalgia product line for dudes with baited breath wishing the shoes were as good of quality as when they brand new and had no reputation or loyalty to fall back on. In fact, signing Drake just illustrates Nike's decision to cater to hypebeasts and keep those teenage custies rolling the dough into their Beaverton doors.
 
Quantity over quality. JB is just lining their pockets with consumers who are obsessed with the hottest trends. The only basketball athletes that really "sale" right now are Bron, KD, Kobe and DRose. All those other sneaks are kinda just sitting out there (sorry, people arent buying Melo's and CP3's). Shoe companies have to go with what's selling and right now the music artist control the trends. Gotta feed the hype (beast).

- Also, all white or black 12s are pretty dull to me.

When I first heard this news i assumed nike just took the money Kanye said no to and threw it at Drake. but this deal had to be in the works for some time for those samples to be made. possibly around the time Kanye started ranting about nike in the BBC interview. or maybe sooner.

Jordan Brand would be dead in the water if it wasn't for retros all of their new stuff is hot garbage.
 
I think comparing Drake to Kanye is a mistake. they are both rappers but that's about all they have in common.

Kanye is an Artist first, he went to art school. He has a passion for creating art. He has been involved in the fashion industry for some time now. I think he will be an exceptional designer and extremely successful in his clothing line for Adidas.

Nike will never be surpassed by Adidas or any other brand but I guarantee the gap will be significantly smaller as a result of Kanye West. Nike f*cked up bad with this one. they will survive of course but this was a huge mistake on their part. Kanye will attract a lot of athletes and musicians to sign with Adidas.

and nike's answer is to sign drzzy drake rogers...... with his custom Barney 5's...... and let's not forget that he blew his knee out while running around on stage singing.
 
i think nike shot them self in the foot by not paying or letting kanye do what he wanted

but i could see this being some type of plus

better drake then Justin Timberlake or heavens forbid dj khaled

khaled would be a joke for jordan brand

Drake is a great fit but this should have happened with jay z years ago

I can understand why. I also understand why Adidas gave him the keys. Y'all giving Kanye too much credit. *Looks at forum title and walks out*
 
The Yeezy wouldn't have been the same without Nike. Imagine a reebok yeezy or adidas yeezy...stop giving Kanye so much credit. Nike doesn't need him, the shoe made them almost no money, it was a hype booster to add to all the other hype boosters like what the SB, air mags, foam madness, jordan brand and ect.
 
^ok true fair enough however imo i think Nike could have made mad dough if they would have done more with the yeezy and tried it out as an official line.

They don't care though. And I don't blame them, Kanye is so loose a cannon to be that attach to your company.

If I were Nike, I would constantly release Yeezys over the next couple years. I bet dudes would be more willing to pay $250 for a Yeezy than whatever Adidas comes out with
 
If Drake ever gets his own Jordan shoe it'll be the easiest sneaker "pass" of my life.
