**Jay-Z ranks all his albums.....Vol. Where's AntiDope???**

I've always been a casual jay fan, meaning there's a lot of his work that I haven't heard. I listened to vol.3 in it's entirety last night and that joint is SOLID. of course I had to take into account the time period that it was made. I was somewhat familiar with reasonable doubt, but I can never get all the way through it. I forced myself to hear it last night and I definitely wouldn't rank it that high.

few more I have to give a full spin: bp3, dynasty, kc.

I see someone posted that AG>BA. imo, AG was full of tracks that I would rate 6-8, lots of solid songs. Black album, however, had BANGERS: dirt off your shoulder, 99 problems, psa :x , my son :smh: . I wouldn't consider any songs on AG a banger. However, Black Album had more songs that I would rate

Vol. 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Magna Carta.

Magna Carta was hot garbage.

It seems like everyone hates sunshine... I loved that song personally

I agree. I wouldn't even say no one was checking for Jay back then, they were, but I think the better way to put it is like this, think about it in terms of it being a line. He was basically in the middle of the line, but that shows just how much better music was back then.
I've always considered Jay Z a middle of the line artist, but he's been doing it for so long now with consistency that people just expect greatness. He was never the big draw or the person people couldn't get enough of but you knew he would come with something pretty nice and it was a safe listen.

I was shocked to hear a juvenile feature on volume 3, definitely puts things into perspective when it comes to who was hot back in the late 90's.

I must truly be in the minority to think MCHG was a good album. I liked more than half if the tracks on there.

I will rank later, but Vol. 3 is also unappreciated. And Dynasty should be down there with KC

Whoa whoa whoa...... Soon You'll Understand, Where Have You Been, Squeeze 1st, Change the Game, I Just Wanna Love You, This Cant Be Life, 1-900-Hustler, THE INTRO?!?!?!??!!?

That album had fire on it.

Blueprint without a doubt hov's best work in my opinion.

RD for what it is/was will be up somewhere on that list but the black album does it for me too.

allure - one of my favorite jay songs ever ... once again its the life

OP I don't think that list is what Jay thinks are his best albums. He ranked them just by how much he enjoyed making them. I don't know how nobody else knows this :smh:

Why is Sunshine everyone's reason for not likeing Vol. 1? I Know What Girls Like is 10x worse. I love Vol. 1

Sunshine comes on at my job once and a while which I always find hilarious because its with a bunch of 80s pop and **** on this play list.

I find myself somewhat enjoying it though. I agree with I Know What Girls Like is 1000x worse. It shouldn't have been made at all. Vol. 1 is good besides its Diddy influences.

I really gotta re-listen to American Gangster I don't remember one song from it. Since everybody swears by it

I Know What Girls Like didn't have an ultra cheesy shiny glossy *** video attached to it

Thats it, I'm listening to American Gangster on the way home today. Forgot about Pray :pimp: :pimp:
