Yea I think that was the first time i heard the track myself. Hearing the track then I thought the album was going to be real nice

 
At least Jay can be honest about his own work.

Only thing I'd disagree with is BP2 being so low and being below BP3. I'd probably also put Vol. 3 above AG.

The top 4 is just about right although TBA could switch places with BP.
 
Pretty cool of Jay to do, I'd love to see more MC's or just music artists period rank their own catalogue and leave a small comment about each one. Personally I'd rank Jay's albums...

I always liked Vol. 3. I would be a big Jay fan if he stopped releasing albums after Blueprint.


BP3, Kingdom Come and MCGH are a disaster. I guess they're accepted because of his name. American Gangster was nice. Black Album, never liked and I think is beyond overrated.

Black Album overrated? Wow. I'm not a huge Jay fan like that and I know that album is undeniable.

2. RD-Classic
3. TBA-Classic
4. AG-Classic
5. MCHG- Great music, not a classic
6. Vol. 1 - almost Classic, almost
7. BP2- GREAT ALBUM, go song for song, flow, lyrics, beats, 21 of 25
8. Vol 2. GREAT MUSIC, not that good of an album, no cohesion, not enough depth
9 Dynasty
10 Vol 3
11 BP3
12 KC

BOBW was nice
Bobw 2- complete garbage

I like all his music.
 
Blueprint 2 has to be split into two albums IMO. The Gift and the Curse are so different from each other and IMO one is much better than the other. I have always referred to them seperately.
 
Would have put AG before Vol.2 but other than that I agree.

have no idea how vol. 2 is ranked as high as it is.

been havin a jay marathon the last to months and that album gets the least amount of spins. somethin about it just doesnt do it for me.

vol 1. on the other hand was damn near a classic imo w/ the exception of "i kno what girls like" w/ kim/puff. people sleep a lil too hard on that album. it was SUPER solid.

also, people need to stop with the MCHG slander. aint a wack song on that album. NONE.
 
Don't know how someone could pick any album over Reasonable Doubt to me. As an album it's just so complete and timeless, as much as I love Blueprint it hasn't aged as well as RD. U Don't Know still a top 5 Hov song though.


MCHG has weak tracks, On The Run, Holy Grail, Jay-Z Blue, La Familia.

I think vol 1 gets overlooked because jay himself said he didn't like the album. I always thought it was a solid album
 
Volume One is definitely his most under rated album, its not even close. Dudes never mention it when talking about him, but it was in the top half of his albums quality wise.

I also think the BP1 is the best album ever made and theres simple logic behind it. Rap is the best form of music, the BP1 is the best rap album ever made, ergo it is also the best album ever made.
