If I had to guess it's pry something to do with patent's on the name similar to how Nike is calling the Columbia XI's Legend Blue this year.  They pry lost the naming rights.  I like the OG version a lot more though.
 
Ice Blues were the first color I think. I remember them being pretty limited. I haven't seen a DS pair in years. I never was a fan of that colorway.
 
They changed the names on all the colorways no? Think it has to do with the colors not being the exact same as the ogs but similar. Sunshines, ice blues, and mesh are all a slight different shade than their og counterparts right?
 
Not sure why they changed the name. Maybe to sound cooler but yeah, none of them are the exact shade. Sunshine, Ice Blue and Mesh are all a little lighter or darker. So far white pair is the only one. I'm guessing silver and black pairs will be spot on too.


Think I'm gonna buy a pair of the Mesh off my boy for $80. Not too bad.
 
^Not sure about online, but if you're near an Adidas Performance store, I'd call to see if they still have pairs sitting on sale.

I think the Ice Blues are the only ones to officially have a name change to Vapor Blue. The others kept their original names, but yeah the Mesh and Sunshine colorways definitely have a different look.

Paying it forward tho, they do have a last pair of the Vapor Blue in a size 13 for $60. I would have scooped it up quick had I not already just gotten the whites.

a nice clean red mesh type version of the playoffs would have been far better than those pink laces joints with the white sole.
