Open run at your gym. What are your in-house rules?

Curious of what rules you guys have at your local gyms/rec centers when it comes to bball.

I went to this one rec and games were taking a half hour.  There was only one court and these were some of the rules they had.

-first game to 15, all games after to 13.

-ALL shots are 1 point.

- no list.  who ever had next can pick up 4 of the 5 dudes who just lost.

-winner stays, no limit of wins regardless of how many "teams" waiting.

Not necessarily  a rule but not one time did anyone ever shoot for a  disputed call.  they would just argue until a dude got too tired too argue and just give up.

I don't know about games going to 13 all day and all shots being 1 point, even if its outside the arc. if there is no one waiting, I can see people playing to 13 or 15 but if there are over 10 people waiting, that's weak  All of the open runs  ive seen to have 2s and 1s and all games to 11.   Some places even had a 15-minute clock run by the center.

What rules  do you guys have on your local courts?

First game 13, 11 after that

No list, get your 5 and talk to whoever has next to confirm your spot

First game 15. After that 13.

Offensive foul will be called.

Other than that. It's the same as any other pick up game.

First game is up to 15 after is 12

Points are 1's & 2's

Whoever has next can pick up whoever they want

If the shotclock is on than there's a list

if its empty we go to 16 or 21

if it has a people waiting we go up to 11, if its 10-10 then it goes to 16 if its 15-15 you have to win by 2

if its pack we go up to 11, and you have to win by 2.....

these rules are for half court.

if we play full court we go to 21 and switch sides at 11

Shooting for calls is the most necessary pick up rule of them all. It ends all arguments in three seconds.

first gm 16, 12 after
1 and 2s
5 sec backdown rule
3 sec (defensive 3 okay)
alternate position on tie ups and controversial calls

A lotta pussass rules where yall play at. I've never been to a gym where offensive fouls are called

All these other rules yall are listing are terrible, because a lot of cats come out and try to referee more than they play anyways. Just ****** play, no callin fouls on ticky tack **** and trying to be a zebra.

I've seen plenty scraps and arguments when I hoop, hell I've even seen a ***** hold the ball and shoot on the other end for 10 minutes because they didn't respect his call

Majority of gyms I play at, go by 1's or 2's to 9, 10, 12, or 15. No shot clock, time clock, lists or nothing. Rarely have I seen diplomatic approaches to pickup ball. I will say they work though.

Who calls offensive fouls or 3 seconds in a pickup game?

The most important rule is no calling "and 1".  If you call foul and make the shot, it doesn't count but you get ball back.

Offensive fouls and 5 second backup rule?

First game 16 straight.

After that its 12 straight.

1's and 2's.

Simple, call youre own foul and depending on whos playing (ego's), argue or shoot for ball.

If it's crowded, more than 2 runs down they'll go get the list out and if game time gets excessive they'll bring out the 15 minute clock. First game 15 1s and 2s, 12 thereafter. Down here, if you call foul and make it, great shot but your ball up top. Should have had more confidence in your And1 ability. Also, "And 1" isn't a call so if you call And 1 then actually miss, play resumes. None of that oh I called ball. Arguing for calls sometimes comes down to the whole "yall got last call" thing if it's 10 level headed dudes paying but a lot of times just comes down to 1 guy being louder and more beliggerant about it than the opposing side so it's like "**** it man, your ball then." I've never in 15+ years of playing seen anyone legit call an offensive foul unless it was very egregious in which case they'll probably call it to stop play but let the offense keep the ball. Tie ups are just a turnover.

Fouls is where it gets murky. I never call mine, I just play through all of it. So the first time, I might be like alright you "gave it to me on the floor wrapping me up before I tapped glass with it," and take it back out from now on let me call my own, hate when cats don't want to play d so they just tap you and say it's your ball. Nope, I didn't feel it or call it plus you've been fouling me worst all game anyways so don't give it to me now when I got the advantage. Other people like to wait til they missed and then call ball or be like, "bring that back, you fouled me." If I foul you and cause you to miss and stop you, I'll give you ball right there or say something like "his ball if it miss," but if it seems like you're playing on, I am too. Your fingers are definitely part of the ball, not giving you that one unless you call it. No over the backs again unless it's just blatant. Same with moving picks. We normally play deuce unless it's a packed gym.

All games are 21

Can't win by 1 point. If score is 20-20: First to 5 wins

All shots are counted as 1 point

Winning team stays on until they lose

Person who has "next" can pick up any 4 players asides from players from winning team

Disputed calls result is shot off from top of the key

Call your own fouls and no shot clock/3 in key/5 sec back down

All other rules are enforced such as traveling, backcourt and out of bounds.

IDK bout rules but when i play if someone calls "and 1" and misses the shot, i just keep playing like nothing happened  and dudes who call the sissy fouls because they put up a bad shot will get fouled hard

Games to 11
winner keeps playing no matter what
win by two

-first game 15 every game after 13 until the last game. last game is 15

-win by 2
-just let it be known when you got next- no list sometime ppl be arguing bout who was there first.
-shoot to take out and pick court
-everything is 1.
-questionable calls you shoot for
-call ur own fouls

Game to 15.
1's and 2's.
Call your own fouls. And 1 is not a foul call, and don't wait till after you miss to call it.
If you call next and your a couple down, reaffirm it after every game to keep it.

First game to 15

First 10 players match up to another player with similar skill level and play rock, paper, scissors. Winners on one team, losers on the other.

If the next team on needs players the players from the losing team shoot for the spots.

1s and 2s

Call your own fouls

Winners stay on (max 2 wins in a row)

Last game to 21

First game to 15, last to fifteen - all between games to 12, win straight up. Play 2's and 1's. Shoot disputed calls. Tie ups alternate. Call your own fouls, but if I foul someone I usually call it if they do the same. I don;t really call unless I get hit in the head or tackled. We do play with a list and it works pretty well - firs ten there shoot for captains and pick then go to list. Some days you get crappy teams, some days you get a good one.
