TROPHY KIDS... Parents living vicariously through their children

Coached youth basketball and umpired youth baseball...... I can say that this is all true and a lot more common then you'd think. It's pretty sad

Will be watching this with my dad

I watched the other day, the guy who's son plays football was a butthole, it's clear as day the hates it. He's just playing to please his father.

Will watch. there is a tough line between pushing your kids to reach potential and allowing them to be themselves. I figure when a kid turns 16 the you can let them loose, but up til then, I'm tiger momming the **** outta my kids.

His son seems like a good kid too, just a little soft, but then again he is like 15 with his dad shouting in his face nonstop...

And I wanted to strangle basketball dad. I'm glad at least one guy told him to chill out during a game.

This looks like its going to be real good. Cant wait

I have an 8 and 11 year and both are in Baseball. This happens on the field all the time. Im not gonna lie and say i dont do it because I do.

But my wife keeps me on check and because of that, I tone it down a lot. You want your kids to do well in the sport they're playing. And in order for them to do well, you gotta coach them as a friend.

Not as a parent or even a coach. Give them pointers on how to do it. You can tell when a child ignores a their dad on the field. He/she zones him out and pays no attention to what theyre saying.

If this happens, have another person talk to them. Sometimes a strangers advice is the best advice.

Just watched, good lookin' out OP

I think that golf dad was the worst. That little girl was what -- 10 years old? When he called her a B in that first segment it literally had me like :wow:

That football dad isn't too far behind, the guy definitely has anger issues. This dude started yelling at his kid until he cried for what I think was telling his dad he didn't want to talk about how his girl was going to dump him in 6 months/his phone privileges?.. Kid opened the car door and you could tell just wanted to leave but had a 2nd thought about it and was straight terrified to. I definitely want to be a stern father, but not to the point where my child fears for their safety :smh:

The basketball dad was OD. Kid had like 20 points, including 4 three's and his dad still hatin' after the game. I hated parents who'd be in the stands thinking they're the coach barking out orders.

The tennis lady wasn't bad at all, or maybe it's because i was watching these other 3 psychopaths

What I realized is that it seems like all of the parents have good kids, dont know if it's because they scare the life out of them orrr if they should use that passion and put it towards helping their child with something else like academics instead.

nah its all about the musical achievements. everyone knows asian kids get A's by default.

"my daughter is playing a piano concerto with the world-renowned city orchestra and your son is some 3rd stand 2nd violin scrub"
That's pretty racist :smh:

There are some terrible parents in sports. I've seen/heard some foul ****

Yeah I've seen some pretty bad **** w/ parents and sports. I'm a bit indifferent about it.

If the kid WANTS it...I have no problem with parents being tough on their kids about sports.

KD's mom used to cuss him out during and after bad games when he was like 13

She was very tough on him but look at the result.

It's unfortunate parents take it to extremes sometimes. I went thru this with my dad. It just takes the fun out of it.
