Air Jordan 3 Retro - Wolf Grey - Metallic Silver - Black - White

Angelus paint @OddAndTwisted. Thanks man, yeah the shine is from the flash diffuser which was way to high but in person there fine @PWGuy
Ah...cool.  I like the natural look of the leather in that last pic above without the flash.  I'm paranoid about painting shoes after ruining my white cement 4s back in '89...!

Yeah one thing I found out is that most ppl **** up by not prepping the leather correctly. If you don't prep it right, the paint will have a hard time adhering to the leather. After you prep it thoroughly tho, it should be smooth sailing from there. Ppl also like to glob hella paint on at first which is big mistake because you want it to be nice and even. Damn in 89' !? I was 2 yrs old lmao @PWGuy

Good advice.  Yeah, at 14 I knew nothing, and just picked up some paint at the local shoe repair shop.  I had already worn them for almost a year, and just wiped them off with water and painted away; no tape, no technique.  The whole shoe ended up black b/c the paint kept dripping everywhere (i.e. no cement elements left!).  It was a disaster.  At 2 years old, you probably would have done at least as good a job ;-).

Can you please explain in detail what you mean by "prepping the surface properly"

I might cop me another pair just to paint em too

It means thst you have to clean the surface of the shoes very well before painting them or applying any paint on them, this is to make sure that the paint adheres to the surface. Basically, when using angelus, it is recommended to apply the prepping chemical on the surface first to remove dirt, and other chemicals on the original shoe..its like when painting a car you have to remove the original paijt first and then applying a primer to make sre the paint sticks and doesnt mix up with the previous paint..

its not the grey upper thats bad, its that silver crap on the EP thats trash

So that custom still looks like garbage imo

Man, these picture are hyping me up. Imma see if I get some free time on the weekend to pass by foot locker and cop me another pair.

Really thinking on trying that paint job

And that angelus paint is cheap too

Is flat black gonna be alright or is gloss paint with a duller gonna give better results.
I'm leaning towards getting flat black paint so I'm not mucking around with duller but what's the finish gonna be like?

Flat black is best in my opinion there is no gloss. finish just coats it so its scratch/chip resistant, add one that doesnt put much shine into the shoe.

^^^

im pretty sure they sold out on day 1. i think this was the only 3 recently that hasnt sold out on all major sites. i dont remember but didnt even the powder blues sell out on all major sites on day 1 and was just sitting at local stores???

That pair is fresh yo. Yeah gonna get some duller today and play with it. Ive done it matte before on wheels but not shoes yet .
