its not under buyer protection and its a process and a hassle to get the money back and will take weeks

There are people that set out to scam dudes that think gifted payments protect them, all they have to do is make the gifted payment from their credit card and file a chargeback with their credit card company. The sellers PayPal will have those funds removed quicker than a regular PayPal dispute.

Gifted payments for purchases are a terrible idea for both buyers and sellers. Both parties can easily still be taken advantaged of.

Complete the transaction the way it's supposed to be and pay the fees.

you should only gift money to fam/ friends you trust...you mean to tell me your gonna gift someone money that you don't know ? theres no buyer protection from paypal when you gift money so if you do and never hear from that person again your out of luck..

There's NTers who have gifted me payments and my stuff is authentic.

Gifting payments isn't a tell-tale for unauthentic or a scam.

An NTer in this thread just gifted me a payment off gp from being around NT since jump.

Common sense determines you not getting got, nothing on that list will help you not get taken.

Sometimes it's out of our hands.

Take tagged pics of authentic and send you fakes.

*99.99% of the time. The other 0.01% was when I won a case as a seller due to what eBay calls "Buyer Remorse". Buyer filed a "non-receipt" claim the same day he purchased the item off me and eBay/PayPal called him out on it and awarded me my money back.

Wait before he got it? The literal day he bought it? See that's the only way they side with you. When the dude requesting his money is stupid. Still shocked they gave it to you. I've never been fortunate enough as a seller to have the same experience. Only time I've won is being blackmailed for feedback.
