I live in NoVa and am very well aware of how some parts of DC are. Just because it has gotten better doesn't mean it's good. There's a reason you can get a 3 bedroom apartment in some areas for about $700.

Some areas remain the same.... but a large bit of the city is yuppie ville. Its good and its bad. Made the city safe, but its forcing people out.

It's called section 8...which can also be found in NoVa.

There are no REGULAR housing areas within city limits for $700.
 
These are not rent controlled or section 8....they're just mad cheap because people don't want to live there. Am I'm well aware of the section 8 homes in Northern Va (Saratoga for instance), the neighborhoods are infinitely better than the section 8 neighborhoods you would find in DC and also parts of MD.

Listen I ain tryna **** on DC, out here we have bad neighborhoods too (Richmond Highway) all areas do. But lets no fool ourselves into thinking that just because an area is "on the rise" that suddenly it is safe to walk around at night.

Very rough area. It's located in heart of SE and not too far from Anacostia and the PG County borderline. Lotta dudes in that area about that life.
