The Combat Jack Show Thread

This is why I told you guys to stop posting his stuff

šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ˜¬šŸ˜‚ the contradiction of your post

Theyā€™re not hiding it. Plus AK studied at Rutgers. So, heā€™s basically an adopted NJer/NYer.

Heā€™s been around those white frat boy types since college.

Those of us like Wavy, You, myself, basically anyone else of higher intelligence and common sense BEEN knew what type of time dude was on.

Heā€™s the living, breathing, definition of the millennial/Gen Z/etc type that clearly is an opportunist and compromised

not sure if it really has to do w/a generational classification than the way way he gets moneyā€¦as a basically a singular entity, it isnā€™t surprising that such a person would eventually lean more conservative

Itā€™s our own kind (not dudes like you and I). I feel like say cheese is bigger than all of them except Vlad.

Itā€™s funny how those Cali gang members, the whole ā€œgang diasporaā€ as whole, they HATE the ā€œother sideā€ they HATE their rivalsā€¦

But they let goofy drugged up looking Adam infiltrate and use themā€¦ but they hate rivals who basically look like them

Black folks just shameful nowadays. No backbone. I just look at Adam and Iā€™m like (as a black man) WHATā€™S the appeal of being around dude, unless heā€™s buying drugs from you

It baffles me.

Dudes who look like Adam literally come to the hood or around black people strictly to buy drugs or prostitutes (at least where Iā€™m from)

you feel or know? it is actually quite understandable how guy like adam, ak, vlad grew in influence, when hip-hop media was more established they werenā€™t all that interested in the 110th most ā€˜popularā€™ rapper in x genre/market whereas adam et al would not only show interest but knowing who these folk were but actually give the spotlightā€¦not baffling at all

Vlad literally does nothing but interview people. What part of our culture is he?

and putting themselves at the head of OUR culture and the fact they think they are? To say it publicly? What influence do they have?

#itiswhatitis, for example just through sheer time & volume vladtv is somewhat of a database/repository of hip hop history/knowledge, almost every time something happens in hip-hop vladtv invariably has a flash/throwback interview that directly or indirectly relates; i donā€™t know if this ā‰ˆ influence per se but it is something

Though you are right Iā€™m not sure how the college loans relate dawg

To me itā€™s just simple, seems like some years ago the media moved towards dumbing everything down going for hot takes, more gossip/drama and generally stupid **** and ppl ate it up so it just gets worse ā€¦Basically the old tabloid style that used to be a side thing became mainstream media and legit reporting and journalism got pushed to the side where the tabloids used to beā€¦It flipped so thatā€™s how you got a dude like Adam legit thinking him/Ak/vlad are the biggest in hip hop media, and itā€™s nastee cuz that ainā€™t too far off from the truth

i would say that controversy & salaciousness has always had appeal, social media just brought it to the fore in a way that was so much more accessibleā€¦for better & worse established hip hop media were ā€˜gatekeepersā€™ w/ biases often couched in phony objectivity, the folk that came up as independents were at least honest in their favoritism

You go out of your way to defend these dudes, I think everyone in this thread is seeing a trend

It's when all this content started being controlled by algorithms. They really just been studying (aka gathering all our data and training their ai) our online behavior and regurgitating what we engage with. And for some reason people seem to engage more frequently with negativity than positivity on the internet. So then its just a feedback loop. Not to mention incorporating the psychology of our base instincts in these algorithms.

I really think Elon bought twitter for the data. I think corporations are buying up recording masters for data to train ai musicians. All these wfh logs. Any app you spend money on. Data is the name of the game.

Danger of ai isn't so much job loss, it's when these computers really have us figured out everyone will essentially be mentally enslaved on a level beyond your average persons comprehension.

and journalism doesn't exist anymore with people not using newspapers and newspapers struggling, layoffs and lack of pay.

Plus one candidate made a villain out of the media. They'll trust some random conspiracy theory YouTube video, chain e-mail or something someone told them though.

That Alex Jones doc on Max

Was wild to see a once ā€œrespectedā€ hip hop publication such as XXLā€¦..tweet out an obvious fake video from 1090 Jake claiming this was Rick Ross in the 1990s  . They had to delete it yesterday.

But itā€™s a race to the bottom.

A lot of truth in this post.

I mentioned the loan part because a lot of people either didnā€™t finish undergrad or grad school, or gave up hope on college altogether because of finances

Basically arrested development

People who wanted degrees in mass media or journalism didnā€™t get far enough to receive the proper tools

šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™‚ļø if thatā€™s how/what you want to call it, coolā€¦donā€™t make me nothing.

most of yā€™all seem like astute individuals so itā€™s just kinda confusing why the pontificating about these guys when obviously they have earned their stripes already (both positive & negative). arguably every media outlet now that is a go to source for commentary/information/news, whether you want to say it includes ak, no jumper, say cheese, vladtv, etc. almost all of them are/were once outsiders/upstarts that were initially covering niche/small corners of hip hop culture and grew beyond that initial thingā€¦

I'll say Vlad built his off hip hop but No Jumper and Ak made their names off foolery disguised as hip hop media. Both Ak and Adam are awkward at doing actual interviews.

Yeah VLAD been around since the late 90s and early 2000s. VLAD actually was a mixtape DJ and hosted tapes.

He was around wayyyyy before the current iteration of social media. Before IG/Twitter and Facebook became what they are now. Iā€™ll give him credit for that.

Rick Ross had Vlad beat up in like 2007/2008. AK was still in Jamaica and Adam was in a trailer home snorting lines off a mirror

I wish DJ Drama wouldā€™ve had a Podcast.

Didnā€™t he and Don Cannon have a podcast at one point??

I believe Cannon manages Uzi or use to?
