Some folks really don’t appreciate great music. :smh:

He could’ve at least grabbed a Lexus SC coupe. Deja Vu was 97/98. He definitely could’ve grabbed something fresher and more luxurious:lol:

I never forget when my cousins grandfather bought a Gold Lexus SC in like 1996/1997. Made me fall in love with Lexus. I’ll never forget that moment

I understand, because I used to want an Accord or Mazda 626, but then as I got older I realized those are attainable vehicles. Pete is coming from the subway. So from that, to a brand new car. That's something.

Jay is one of the people who ruined things.

It's a big difference in what you hear dudes mentioning car wise in the early 90's versus late 90's. Dudes made it like a Mazda MPV was dope. I was listening to Wu wanting wone.

Even Jay ruined it for himself, that Lexus GS in 95 wouldn't have been dope in 1999.

Dame kinda playing Duke Da God here.

Good interview. But you can tell Duke was a runner/crash test dummy

I don't like Dame looking like this and people keep egging him on.

Dame has an alcohol problem. Plus he has diabetes. It's not going to end well.

Man, this is like watching Shane Mosley now for me.

It goes back to what Clark Kent has said about Jay not really wanting to rap, because he didn't feel rappers were making any real money.

He probably ran back to Clark, you want me to waste a day riding around midtown to get a deal when I just saw Peter Gunz in an Accord and take a pay cut?

10000%. Pac/JayBig/Mase, & took that **** to a whole nother level. Me & frshstunna frshstunna talk about this all the time. Then another jump done came in cars…where Lexus’ , Jags, Caddies etc wasn’t it anymore

It’s dope how each city got unique car cultures in various eras. In Baltimore (when I was coming up), it was Crown Vics, Grand Marquise’s, Buick Lasabres, Cadillacs as the starter car……can’t forget the Lincoln Town car. 96 on

Then you getting money when you get a Honda Accord, Infinity, or Acura. To this day, it’s still a hood status symbol.

Some of them random cars, with all them random letters ppl loved in NYC in the 80s-90s is crazy to me. Like you said, hearing about a Mazda MPV being the **** is wild

That dude Jay just always been an out stunt you *****. Dame naturally too. Too many stories of them really flexing on *****s. Even Beatrice went harder

Like you mentioned, Integras/Legends, land cruisers, monterros, everyday.

When I saw a McLaren F1 in like 2001, my word changed. My dream car to this day but impossible

Use to play little league football at a park called holiday park in Fort Lauderdale. (White, upscale neighborhood close to the beach) Across from it was an exotic car dealership.

Man I’ve been seeing Lamborghinis, Ferraris, RRs since I was 6 years old.

My patnas first cars were 92 impalas. I settled for a civic put preferred a IS 300 or cutlass.

Starter cars for anyone down here aged 16-21 was a century, intrepid, stratus, Camry or Corolla (for women), impala, skylark, lumina, focus,Lesabre, Lebaron, etc. everyone drove a bucket unless you went to a private school and your people had money

My patna Wayne got a lawsuit from his dads death. He had a box Chevy on 20s with candy paint in 10t:lol:

Caddy’s and Lincoln’s were always status in the black and white community.

Hate both them s***. Can’t stand Lincoln town cars

Lincoln town cars were used as taxis and dollar cabs in NYC around that time.
