The Combat Jack Show Thread

I listened to No filter & Joe Budden cuz they were posted in this thread. The Aisha episode was good & I knew who Yes Julz & Nessa Nefertiti were before this so I listened to those episodes. Got too birdy for me on the DedeOnTheBeach episode.

Julz looks good. I love women who rock short hair.

I didn't plan on listening to Budden but when there was mention of Bomani on his show I listened thinking he was a guest. It's not bad but it's not good. He's kinda late on the podcast train and like someone said you'd think he would've been on it sooner with his head start on YouTube.

I'm iffy on Charlemagne so I tried to get into Brilliant Idiots but I cannot stand Andrew with every fiber of my being. I heard him and his lady broke up and I don't know how she lasted as long as she did.

I listen to:
The Read - gossip/current event stuff
2 Guys & A Girl- same as the Read & both groups are all friends with each other. This is less "professional" though. They record separately and you can hear them chewing all in your ear.

The Evening Jones

Snap Judgment-probably my favorite. People tell their stories based on whatever the subject is that week.

This American Life. Same as Snap Judgment but I like Snap better for some reason.

Latino USA - someone RT an episode that featured Mero From Desus v Mero one day about Bodegas and I kept listening from there. It's from NPR like Snap but focuses on Latinos. Some serious topics some light hearted stuff.

Another Round- two black ladies that write for BuzzFeed. Some girls that talk about random stuff but it's not gossipy and ****.

MMHMM, Girl - two black girls from the Bay Area that talk about a lot of nothing but again they don't really do celebrity gossip so it's a break from that. Their identities are a secret.

The Dormtainment Podcast -they just started. They sit around and talk about whatever. It's just ok. I listen when I've listened to everything else.

Words With Friends. This is where I first heard of yesjulz. Jabari talks to his friends doing their thing in media/fashion/"influencer" types. I heard he's shooting a documentary right now so there hasn't been a new episode in months.
you should give "his and hers" podcast with michael smith and jemele hill from espn a try. based on your list it seems like a pod you'd enjoy.

Never heard anything from Manolo Rose, but this is a good interview.

Manolo is a cool dude but the music is trash from a lyrical stand point. It's kinda of crazy that these type of artist get shine just because of a buzz built over time.

I suppose it's always been that way and you shouldn't expect all the artist being interviewed to be top tier rappers.

Yeah, he's a cool and humble dude, but his music is trash.

He's strictly trying to pop off from hooks. And frankly with the rest of the trash that's getting hot, I can't blame him. IMO dudes like him and Fetty need to be used for hooks and nothing more.

That freestyle was terrible

Pete really doesn't add to the show now that they don't talk about "hot topics" at the beginning or sit around and just talk to each other.

He's not really a hip hop guy. Its like me sitting in on every interview.

I said that once on twitter and Pete searches his name and he replied "that's what's up" or something like that. lol

It seems when Pete does want to add something useful Combat just dismisses him or ignores it.

Just heard the Guru episode and of course it was good. I would love to hear more engineers on there, Mike Dean would have some solid stories.

I saw Guru at SXSW two or three years ago just chilling and walking around fader fort smoking a cig. A handful of people recognized him but for the most part he was just doing his own thing. I was going to go chop it up with him but I just chilled and drank. :rolleyes

Pete says a lot of stupid stuff. The Skyzoo interview sort of pissed me off when they were talking about Jeter's sister. Combat reverted back to cutting people off and finishing stories. And Pete became racist Pete where he gets all excited and messes up the flow of the interview. Skyzoo handled that better than a lot of other people would have. I think they edited a portion out, because all of a sudden it went to another subject.

I thought that too, Im new to the podcast so Ive only listened to like 10 episodes in no particular order, but pisses me off when Pete wants to add something and he cuts Pete off or ignores him.

Also I wish the podcast app had every show on there available, I wanna hear the therapist show when they worked on Jacks and Petes problems and the Toure one.

Combat needs to have DJ Clark Kent on there. He did years ago but too much Dallas Penn and i can't get jiggy with that fool. I also wanna hear him talk sneakers with Premium Pete as well.

Really, racist Pete? Never heard him called that, he 's just had a kid with a black chick. What episodes would you recommend?

You need to hear the early ones

Pete often speaks from a naive and ignorant perspective.

So another week of no guest on Juan Epstein. They didn't just grab another person who works for Hot like they did last week

btw, that chick on Joe's podcast :wow: I looked at her instagram. @ScottieBeam

Maino and Stephanie Santiago

I know it sounds crazy but 2-3 years ago I would've never thought he would have a kid with a black chick

I tried to listen to the Lipservice episode with Maino cuz I I like him but I couldn't do it. They sound like complete birds. I love **** **** but I just couldn't.

I'm trying to figure out if Taxstone is out here trolling like his boy Charlamagne.

Dude was arguing with Nipsey over some crap Chalarmagne said that he was clearly wrong about :smh:

ctg had tax on brilliant idiots which was his first big break

he feels obligated to ride for ctg no matter what

I feel ctg put him on to have a ny goon with connects to the streets

tax cool and has points at times but not everything he says makes sense as with anyone

He's clearly modeling himself after CTG "career" wise and he's mentioned several times that he'd slap someone for him. Ctg cracked a joke on Lauren London and apologized to Nipsey...it's no coincidence.

He's corny.

The Chef on Lip Service :pimp:

Taxstone is cool in my book. Dude is a lil extra with the tough guy stuff, but you can tell he's solid.

Lips service is pretty good too. The one with Young Dro was straight comedy.

Stephanie Santiago is a certified freak :pimp:
