Anyone else getting more and more paranoid about the outside world?

Typically I'd agree, but I don't know, man. It's like I just play out scenarios that could happen out here.
I do this

I like to always be aware of my surroundings like Liam Neeson

No Lie - I thought you was going to say

Cant live life in fear. There's no point to it. Things aren't AS BAD ad they are being told on the news. Crime is approaching all-time lows.

Need to make my way to the damn sheriff's office to put in my application for a permit. Been procrastinating for so damn long. :smh:

 if only it were that simple.

Tried smoking like twice. It was amazing. But not something I could see myself making a habit out of. Every once in a blue moon would be cool, maybe.

Plus I'm a dang probation officer. Imagine me cracking down on folks that do drugs while I'm doing the same.

Also, I get randomly screened for drugs throughout the year. I've grown accustomed to taking the tests with a clear conscience. :pimp:

I need to get my conceal and carry. I see to much foolishness going on. I'm not a little guy but I'm not trying I fight five 21 year olds...missed me on that. Idk if I got the heart to shoot a youngster but I need that option.

exactly. life is a worldstar video waiting to happen. I'll throw hands no problem, it's win or lose in most cases but if you're getting approached by a group you really are **** out of luck usually.

all my younger cousins and most of their friends carry and most of these lil _ aren't over 21. some aren't over 18. knowing the reckless youth in my area carry just added to my decision.

I walk through my hood at night no problem but it is really creepy when you hit those stretches where the lights are dim or just not there

my girls hood though... kid (18) got robbed and executed by a 15 year old and a 17 year old a couple weeks ago who had been doing B&E's at a few houses. which was like a week after a dude got shot in the face like 4 times during a robbery over drugs.

my family moved out of the hood to get away from **** like this but now it's like it happens any and everywhere :smh:

Yeah... Well, in that case...

But dont let your ocupation make you feel guilty about it. Trust me, more of your coworkers are smoking than you might believe.

Props for priortizing tho. That's the responsible thing to do. Maybe your job is making you paranoid.

Definitely wouldn't argues that. The **** I see on a daily basis. :smh:

Crazy world, man.

None of that **** phases me and I'm usually thinking about impending death and imagining scenarios where I can kill someone in my close proximity or some type of terrorist attack/mass shooting happening so fast that I can't stop it when it happens. So when I go outside and I'm alone with my thoughts or even if I'm with friends I grab a few quiet moments to myself to assess my surroundings.

In these situations general apathy is your friend. At some point you just have to not care about it anymore and not let it consume your life.

I'm sure being oblivious and being ignorant to what's going on in the world also helps other ppl.

I don't take what the news reports as confirmation that the world is anymore dangerous than its been in years past; one story being more bizarre than the usual violence we hear about doesn't raise my suspicions either.

School shootings are common occurrences that happen throughout year. Death due to domestic violence, and college campus rapes also occur throughout the year, but if the news were to start reporting more deaths and rapes in the next few months, many would believe they're problems that are on the rise.

I'd advise someone who did feel a sense of paranoia to not stress themselves out, because you can't control the danger that may come your way. Look at the train derailment that occurred a couple weeks ago. That's something that many people aren't fearful of, but still managed to take lives when it wasn't expected. You can only go so far when trying to calculate your safety.

Lol no not at all..if something happens it was meant to be..somehow op gettin his *** whooped plays a part in the grand scheme off what we call life..jp I hope your truly not scared

I'm not scared. Just a bit more on edge than I can recall ever being. Like tonight for instance. It's raining and my grandmother hates driving in the rain, let alone at night time. So I take her to get something to eat. A group of young teens standing outside the restaurant just chillin. I see them and instantly wonder about the stuff I've seen on the news lately (ie the knockout game, dude offing his moms).

You see some young teens and the first thing you think of is them victimizing you?

Media got you indoctrinated bruh, the sad thing is if you a young minority and feel like that I know older white non-minorities are prolly feeling the same way

I've always had a love hate relationship with the news cause I like to be informed about whats going on in my city, region, and just the world in general but I can never watch a full segment because of the sensationalized exploitative coverage of crime particularly in lower socioeconomic areas. News channels are never in my hood covering the good such as the stuff people out here doing for the kids, etc. but they here ASAP trying to get sound bites from you the minute a crime occurs.
