NFL WEEK 17 IN REVIEW...

and props to Rex Ryan; love that guy :pimp:

He deserves consideration for coach of the year taking that team to 8-8

Don't think it'll happen, but it really was a season where we exceeded expectations. I obviously want to make the playoffs, but under the circumstances I'm not even all that mad.

Glad Rex is remaining HC.

Eagles
- we were 4-12 and now we're division champions with a first year coach :D. Back home to Philly to welcome the Saints

Everyone Else
- Andy Dalton can't play like that in the playoffs or they're done
- Chargers got so damn lucky
- Ravens gonna force Flacco to restructure 1 year in?
- Aaron Rodgers with a legendary performance in a very entertaining game, props to him
- Cutler's free agency is gonna be an interesting one
- what more needs to be said about the Cowboys, same results EVERY.....SINGLE.....SEASON

Browns are so depressing its not even right anymore.

a ridiculous firing if you ask me, who do they think even wants that job next year?

rodgers
sick.gif
. if the defense shapes up they can make a run.

bears
mean.gif
.

lions with a fitting way to end the season. that team has no identity.

vikings need to draft a qb.

eagles d needs to play better to get far in the playoffs.

cowboys
mean.gif
. you cant make this stuff up.

giants have a lot of holes to fill. eli needs to get some motivation in the off-season. dude was buns.

rg3-10 and the ******** need a defensive minded coach. the offense can come with due time.

carolina d is scary. i don't think the offense can keep up if it needs to put up over 30.

saints are not going anywhere if they don't play all games in a dome or in a perfect weather scenario.

falcons with a disappointing season. and i thought they would go 14-2
mean.gif

tampa needs to build an offense. the defense looks promising.

the seahawks losing at home against the cardinals opens the flood gates for the other teams. they still are a tough team to beat in seattle.

49ers are a shell of who they were last year. the defense can still carry this team though.

cardinals had a great season. i had a feeling they would surprise people.

rams got on track towards the end of the season. i expect this conference to be very competitive next season.

bengals look good. if dalton can limit his mistakes they can make some noise.

that flacco money is sitting at home and so are the ravens.

steelers too little too late.

browns need to trade gordon to the broncos. wonder what qb they draft.

the new england bradys not generating much buzz. just how the hoody likes it.

dolphins are pathetic.

jets did good with the talent at hand. props to rex. geno is bunz.

bills looked good early. hopefully ej gets better and they can round into form.

manning gawd
sick.gif
. the offense is on fire. hopefully welker gets back soon. this team needs the defense to step to win a championship. win it for manning and champ. champ, i know you have 1 good playoff run left in you. show me champ. i cant take another loss like last season
tired.gif
.

chefs b team almost pulled the upset. hopefully team a shows up. they need points in the playoffs and cannot rely on the defense to bail them out.

i dont think the chargers know who the chargers are. they beat the broncos in denver but nearly blow it in san diego to the chefs b team.

raiders are in rebuilding mode. if they get some key pieces they can turn the ship sooner.

wonder which colts team will show up. they can be good if they can execute.

titans are a few players away from playoff contention. fitzy did good. i wonder if they draft another qb.

jags need to move to LA.

texans need to draft derek carr.

it was a great football season fellas. i enjoyed chatting it up with you guys. congrats to the 12 playoffs teams. records are out the door and dont mean nothing. everyone is 0-0. playoff football is where the men separate themselves from the boys. my body is ready

...for a broncos championship

lulz good luck guys.

Jordy Nelson still showing he's the leagues best 3rd or 4th WR. Jerricho Cotchery would be proud

“@KNegandhiESPN: Chip Kelly becomes the 2nd HC since div play began in '67 to win a div in his 1st season on an NFL coaching staff. The other: Barry Switzer.”

:pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

This stat has no context. How many coaches since 67' have gotten a HC job with no pro level experience? Is it 2/5, 2/40, etc.?

Both Harbaugh and payton won the division in their first years (and even made the NFCCG) and that's just off top. First year HC's can do well, experience or not.

Longest season ever. Hopefully it's a huge wake up call to the organization that if you're not getting better, you're getting worse. Haven't done anything significant over the last 3 years to take the next step, and ended up falling down the staircase. You've got the juice now, BOB.

Glad we ended Miami's dream :pimp:

Browns fire another HC

Eagles were nobodies favorites to win that division

Aaron Rodgers got rid of Chicago like a boss

New England and Indy have been working quietly as of late

Cam Newton...glad he's finding success

Steelers and Ravens comin back next year with a vengeance

San Diego almost lost to backups....not the way to prove yourself

The hell? Did you read? I addressed all that.
How is that stat special without context? How many coaches have been hired with only college level-and-below coaching experience?
What if they were the 2 coaches that did it, out of 5 coaches in that category? Is that special?

I think it's special regardless considering how many coaches in general have been hired in that time span. If only 5 fall in that category, doesn't it make it more special because he had such slim chance of becoming a head coach with no NFL experience and still won the division?

Browns should give Horty a chance if not Lovie.

Jordy with a clutch fourth down catch. Cobb, way to make a return.

No it isn't. Like Harbaugh or Payton it is possible to win the division in the first year. But if only a handful of guys get hired with no pro level experience then of course he's going to be in rare company because not many others have had the chance. If he succeeded where 100+ others have failed then yeah it's exceptional but once again no context so who knows?

And there is a bit of luck to this. switzer was handed a stacked team. Kelly had the fortune of every other divisional team being awful. Not to take anything away from him he's a good coach but what if he'd taken that Bucs job last year?

-Browns are a joke

-Bears are also a joke for firing Lovie last year after going 10-6, now they're sitting at 8-8 with Trestman
