Hi all,

I hate that this has to be my first post on NT, but I wanted to bring it to everyone's attention so that they do not do business with this joke of a company.

Some background, I purchased some Air Max Lunar 90 Infared's from them over the phone on 12/26/13 and the guy taking my order mentioned that they charge 9.5% sales tax after I told him I was in TX (outside of their 3 stores in AR). I mentioned that I thought this was an unusual practice because as far as I knew it was not legal to charge sales tax to anyone in a state where do you not have a physical presence (aka store, distribution center, etc.). He said they charge everyone sales tax regardless of what state they were in. That night it really stated to bother me because I work for a very LARGE retail company and in my experience really believe this to be an illegal practice. I twice called the following day to try to cancel my order, no answer. I e-mailed 3 times requesting either proof that there is an Arkansas law that allows them to do collect sales tax in Texas or to cancel my order, no response. I finally was able to get someone to answer the phone today 12/30/13. I requested a cancellation of my order and the person I spoke with who claimed to be the manager of their Little Rock location said all the orders had already gone out for the day and that there was nothing he could do. I explained that I had called and e-mailed several times with no response. I asked if I could return the shoes and got a firm no. I then explained the reason why I wanted to cancel the order (the sales tax issue) and asked if he could direct me to any law that allows them to collect sales tax in my state and the manager began to tell me that they charge sales tax to everyone regardless of state and that he does not have time to go back and forth with me and promptly hung up. It is an absolute joke that these small boutiques try to pull these dishonest sales practices in order to scrape some more profit off the top of unsuspecting customers. A state attorney could have a field day with these guys.

Anyways, sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to pass this along in case anyone had ideas of purchasing from them. Be prepared to line their pockets with an extra 9.5% sales tax. I plan on pursuing a complaint with the BBB to ensure that as many people know about this issue so they will not be stolen from in the future. Amazing to me that a manager would treat a calm, paying customer in that manner. Truly sad.

Has anyone else had experiences like this with them?

Do you happen to have the address? I think I happen to live close to their store if I'm not mistaken.
