I took these pictures to help avoid fellow sneaker heads from spending hundreds on a fake pair.

Be careful guys, fakes are getting pretty good.

I was able to compare an authentic retail pair from HoH to a Taobao pair. These Taobao pairs are the same GM/Fake pairs you can find all over eBay or from sites such as Marque Soles or Mental Kicks.

Hope this helps!

Everyone should see this guide. Very helpful, +Rep'd.

Nice. Can I use this guide for the GS sizes too? I'm not familiar with the 1 at all.

Do the G'S sizes come with a lace bag too?

Thanks for the guide. Pair I got from a seller passes all the LC tests. Had a question though - do all real/legit pairs always come with the sticker size on the insole? Mine didn't come with them.

Thanks for putting this together. I feel a lot better about the Amazon pair I bought from Shoopop.

Great comparison! repped.

In other news, anyone notice that Euro pairs don't seem to come with the suggested retail tag? I've seen at least 5 or 6 pairs from sellers in Europe that pass all of these tests without the suggested retail tag on the box.

Yep that's right. All my Jordan's have not come with SRP tag and I'm in the UK. All the pair of Jordan's at my workplace don't have the tag too. Probably as they have set prices for retailers.

US $ MSRP tag doesn't makes sense for other countries... &  Nike doesn't make separate tags for every country

actually, be suspicious if your pair came from overseas & it has an MSRP tag

So I sz swapped yesterday and these are some things I noticed

The paint lines are all jagged on the right shoe(the one w/o laces) and the texture on the white midsole isn't the same

Also the swoosh on the right shoe is different & the circled r is spaced differently

what do you guys think?

yeezy83 yeezy83 Do you have more pics of the shoe and box? Might be just a quality issue. It would be in your best interest to create a legit check thread.

If the info up above doesn't help here's another article on sneakernews that may help.

It's just quality control issues...

SUCKS, the only OG 1 I was able to pick up this year and I gets messed up pair.

Even the right shoe's sole is warped so it doesn't lay flat... the right side also is higher than the left

took out both insoles & they're legit

called Nike & all they offered was to send the shoe back or 10% off future purchase...even mentioned my messed up Gamma xi's

told 'em to shove it

Let's see the toebox and rear view shots.  Took me all but one day but yeah - pretty easy to distinguish between GM and Retail now.  Unfortunately, the pair I paid 265 for is GM.  Dead giveaway is the spacing between toebox preforations and the bottom-most lace, as well as peaks that have resulted from imperfect cuts on both toebox and rear of shoe.

My GM pair was to the T in terms of all the differences:

- Box was bigger than retail box.

- No stamp inside box

- No MSRP on box sticker (which, alone is nothing but coupled with all other differences is just more evidence)

- Laces looked like spaghetti in bag, not neat at all.

- Spacing between top row of toebox perforations and bottom most lace is too big.

- Peaks from imperfect cuts on toebox and rear of shoe.

- The material used on the inner size tag, that looks similar to a checkered pattern, is different on GM vs Retail.  Look close enough and you can tell.  (I have a few pairs of legit OG 1s in other colorways that all match.  GM Banned pair is only one that is different).

- The spacing between the (inner) bottom of the Nike Air tag and the size tag on GM pairs does not exist.  On retail pairs, you can fold up the bottom of the Nike Air tag to reveal a little bit of spacing between the two tags.

-  The texture of the interior of the Teardrop area on the outsole is noticeably different - Just take a look and you will see.  I have legit Shadows, Highlight Reels, and Laneys to compare to.   All three legit pairs have textures that match.

So yeah - just gonna take the positive out of this experience and not trip about it.  Lost 270ish bucks to a GM pair that via the untrained eye, looks identical to retail pairs - therefore, no fox given - kicks will be rocked.  Going forward though, identifying GM OG 1s is going to be a piece of cake as long as GM factories don't switch things up.

Have a pair of black toes coming in from Flight Club today.  Will be interested to see if they're actually legit.

Is it possible that a pair from a U.S. retailer (or a ndc pair for that matter), be sold without the price tab? And I dont mean the strip ripped off, I mean no sign of preforations.

Hmm...I'm really scratching my head over here then. Im going to start a thread later tonight and show the variations in the pairs I have. There are a lot.

I had the warping issue on a pair of DMP's. Quality control at its finest smh :rolleyes
