WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) is not interested in trainer Robert Garcia's wager. Mayweather dared Garcia's fighter, Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs), to bet his purse on their scheduled September 13th rematch.
Garcia offered to take that wager - if Mayweather allowed Maidana to wear the Everlast MX gloves. In a recent interview on BoxingScene.com, Garcia said Mayweather refused to shake his hand to make the bet official.

"Robert Garcia is doing all the talking, but he's not the one who has to get in there and feel this wrath. He don't have to get in there and feel this wrath. I can't worry about what Robert Garcia is saying. How can Robert Garcia make a bet? You're just a trainer. It's not your money. He's trying to come on the record and say 'shake my hand and I can wear my gloves.' No you're not. You are not fighting me with gloves with no padding. No you're not," Mayweather said.

One day prior to their May fight, Mayweather refused to allow Maidana to wear the MX brand of Everlast gloves. He claims the MX gloves selected by Maidana "had no padding." Maidana eventually selected a different model of Everlast gloves. Mayweather is refusing to change his opinion on the matter - despite the Nevada State Athletic Commission approving the second pair of MX gloves that Maidana presented after the initial pair was rejected.

"The Nevada Commission is the best commission in the world and they said the gloves were approved, but at the end of the day - ain't nobody from the Nevada Commission ever got inside that squared circle and had to fight," Mayweather said.

Adding to the reasons Mayweather won't be remembered for anything other than making a ton of money, playing the heel, beating women, and being a bird.

Remember when Cotto-Trout was regular HBO in the states but PPV in Puerto Rico. I read somewhere that Kessler charged $80 USD for his PPVs when he was in his prime.

I think PAC taking Algieri is a good thing for his career at this point.
He's new, young, he's good, Algieri is.
He just out boxed a brawler in a distance fight.
If Algieri keeps it up, in 18 months(3 fights later) people are going to be like, "this dude is the man" and Pacs taking him young, not dodging. He's not worthy of the "dodge talk" yet, but when is he if that's the case, I think he is ready now, Algieri is.
Rather this fight than as AEA18 AEA18 said, another Bradley or Marquez or a Rios fight.

I like this matchup, it's fresh

I see Floyds camp is complaining a lot already about the dirty play of Maidana, think he has a point or just trying to buy favor from the ref in the rematch?  Or both?

I think the agenda is promotion, get people talking, and that's the topic of the first fight, so it's dramatic, that sells

GGG and it's not even close. ^

Oscar has been tweeting about possibly doing
A canelo fight the same week as a Mayweather fight since Floyd will use his own promotional company after this September fight. If GBP makes Canelo Vs Cotto or Canelo Vs GGG I'd buy those PPV over any Mayweather fight which would likely be Khan Vs Mayweather in May
they always say that and never do it

Briggs better go sit down somewhere before he really does get knocked out smh.  That GB promotion video just kick started my excitement for this fight!

He did try to fight a dirty fight though, multiple low blows, headbutted Floyd for that cut, threw him through the ropes, those paper gloves he tried to use...you can even hear Garcia telling him to fight 'sucia.' Then you've got Garcia yapping away like its him that's gonna be in there fighting...dude is a clown.

EDIT -just for clarity, I mean Robert Garcia is a clown not Maidana. Maidana is just a dirty fighter.
