My edition of humble pie: freakydestroyer freakydestroyer , 3 results I was certain of. Porter/Brook, Stevens KO'ing N'Dam, and Bendo over RDA. 0/3.

I've been there before. I was very confident George Groves was going to take care of business in his second meeting with Froch. That loss wiped out a good chunk of my bankroll, but it was the best thing to happen to me. My takeaways from that "lesson" was to look at things more objectively and don't get emotionally attached to a fighter no matter how well he's done in the past. If you bet, then start off small and work your way up. Even if you hit on a few -1000 favorites, you will gradually get your confidence back.

Stevens just can't seem to cut it against top-level competition. He'll look a killer against the lower-level guys but as soon as he steps up the power seems to dissipate and doesn't have any answers when he's being outclassed.

October schedule is up in the OP. If you can, try and check out Gonzalez/Arce this weekend. I think that's one of the few notable fights.

And Tim Bradley is fighting Diego Chaves on December 13th.

Pretty significant news:

Derek (Brooklyn)

What do you know about Haymon's NBC deal, and what does that mean for the fighters he has on Showtime?
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (12:17 PM)

It's common knowledge in the business something is brewing for next year for a time buy on NBC/NBC Sports Net. Whether his fighters will continue to fight on Showtime is not known for sure yet.

And for the guys who wanted to know about Goosen's farm:

Quinn (Pittsburgh)

Dan I hate to be callous, but what happens to Goosen's promotional contracts? Is his company being taken over by a sibling?
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (12:23 PM)

The contracts are with the company, not Dan personally, so they remain intact. His brother in law, Tom Brown, who has worked for the company from Day 1 and is the matchmaker, told me the company will go on. They are planning some events. He is at Foxwoods this weekend because their fighter, Vanes Martirosyan, is on the Showtime card against Willie Nelson. Craig Goossen, one of Dan's sons, is also experienced in boxing and has worked for the company. I suspect it will go on with Tom and Craig as the main point people.

Slim pickings. TR didn't wanna make the Provodnikov rematch and everyone else is occupied. IDK if it's final but Arum's been setting up for Alvarado/Rios III in January so those were another two names out the window.

If Bradley can box like he did Marquez he should get the W. But my feeling is he'll get drawn into a phone booth fight which would not be in his best interest. Looking forward to seeing Gonzalez back in the ring tomorrow night.

Word I can't believe Karp won I went to the same high school as him and played football with his bros. It's kind of crazy he boxes at a high level, dude trains in a run down old post office and his dad, a retired teacher, is his trainer

Slow month for boxing, but at least we'll get to see GGG knock someone else into Bolivia this month. :pimp:

"BOLIVIAN"

Why do so many people get that wrong?

It's his complete butchering that makes it funny.
