in the sense of people you vibe with which could be family friends... yes. relationship wise no.
the best relationships are the ones you work for and is 50-50. soulmates would have you believe pieces of the puzzle magically fit together. which is lust imo
as far as trying to get a yamb while she is surrounded by friends. My plan of action is similar to Ecooks.
get the yamb you want first. secure the info exchange. after that chat them up but pay more attention to the friends. show love to all of them, you gotta get them on your side while impressing the chick with your social skills.
and they feel some type of way you took attention away from just them which drives them mad (in a good way)
especially if she was feeling you from jump. shes going to give you crap about it. but thats when you can hit them with the slick talk. like. I had to get your friends to approve of me first so It will be easier to take you out. something along those lines.

Random: One thing I've seemed to notice being on campus is that a lot of these girls that look single actually have boyfriends. I'm looking at this girl across from me sitting by herself and I'm thinking about approaching and the boyfriend walks up. Idk just something I've been noticing lately.. like a lot of these girls have boyfriends.

I emailed some girl about sending me her lectures notes because I don't have all the class notes and a while back she gave me her number but then I lost it. She responds back saying she normally doesn't go to lectures but she'll start going to them and in that email I asked her if it would be easier to contact if she would link me her number through email since I lost it previously. She didn't reply to that question does that mean I've already lost and on to the next one or should I just ask her for it whenever I see her?

Did you send the email today? She probably just didn't check her email for it or got busy with something. You kind of lost me with the first two sentences..
I wouldn't really stress it too much. Depending on when and how you asked in the email you can either just go ahead and use the real life interaction to ask the proper way or just leave it alone.
