We just moved to the area and my wife loves teppan style japanese food. There has to be an awesome above average place here.

Thanks in advance

I've been to both House of Genji and Kyoto Palace in San Jose. They're both just okay. Sometimes they send coupons in the mail if you live in the area. Of course there's Benihana in Cupertino too. If you sign up for their birthday club, they'll send you a coupon for 2-for-1 meals during your birthday month. I ain't condoning it, but if you signed up with 12 email addresses, you can get 1 per month. Haha. They don't check for your actual birthday the last time I was there. Let me know if you find a place you like down here. I sure haven't!

House of Genji is way better than Benihana. From the food, to the drinks, the atmosphere and the price. Benihana is overrated.

bump for house of genji - food for all 3 places is about even - beni's might be better [barely], but pricing on drinks at genji puts it ahead.

house of genji > kyoto > benihanas.

Kyoto gets a ton of bachelorette parties for some reason tho. Have merged parties a few times and that ended up being being very legit.

Beni's is coo though if someone else or work is paying.

Thoughts on Kaenyama's in Fremont?

That place is excellent! The sushi is fresh and the drinks there are top shelf. The Sake Lychee drink is off the hook!

It's been a while since, but they have an all you can eat sushi night. That was worth the admission.
