Atlantic City

depends on what you like to play.

Me im a HUGE fan of Single deck BJ, so i only gamble at Harrahs or Trump Taj. All payouts are the same i believe
U ever win big?
ive had my days/nights a few times down in AC. than some nights i got hit bad.

If you want to play Single Deck make sure you are with 1 or 2 more ppl who know ecatly how to play and dont play dumb. With a great table you can take down the dealer as a team.

oh and if you do win a certain amount you will be taxed. i think its if you cash out 20k+

Wild Wild West is the best pregame and postgame spot since they have a 24 hour happy hour. Check out Tropicana too, they have some decent drink spots and a Wet Willies.

Hotels, as mentioned, Borgota, Revel, and surprisingly on the low The Chelsea (not the Annex). You can check here, they usually have some good deals. http://www.accentralreservations.com/

Not sure about food spots, I usually go at night to party. Speaking of which, should be down there this weekend.

If you're looking to go clubbing, hit up HQ at Revel or Club Mixx / Club Mur Mur at the Borgota. I'm not sure what the pool party scene is like in the winter but Harrahs is usually the spot to go too.

A lot of outlets so you can do plenty of shopping as well.

Looking to take a trip there with my girl for Valentines weekend this year. Will be the first time out there for both of us. For those fellow NTers that have taken trips out there, any advice on hotels, restaurants, and other must visit spots? Also are there any good websites where we can find deals/promos? Want to make this weekend special for her.
Take her to a club called Roleplay Lounge
You might thank me or hate me later. Dont get ****ed

I love that place

My man knows.

The liquor store in Caesars isn't badly priced on beer for convenience. Bought out the Yuenling tall boys in the entire store before 7PM on my birthday.

for those of you that :pimp:, any tips/advice for doing this at the hotels?

Ask for a smoking room. Sometime I either bring a air freshner bottle or some type of scent just incase. Always do the wet towel trick under the door. You'll be good. Fogged out plenty of rooms and no alarms went off.

I honestly think alarms pick up different smoke other than cigs, blunts, cigars etc

I'm not a big AC guy, but I like hitting up the beach bar outside of the Trump Plaza. Nice spot to chill at in the summertime.

As someone who goes to AC 10+ times a year here's what I can tell you.

The newest casino is Revel. It was built to look like a Las Vegas casino and everything inside is catered to entertainment and shopping, not gambling or relaxing. It's loud music and very party friendly. Not really a place to spend Valentines IMO.

Borgata, Harrahs and Casears are the three best casinos overall. From a food, casino layout and room decor. If you're looking to get a suite for the evening Borgata and Caesars is the way to go. Harrahs has the best casino lay out.

Best restaurant is Bobby Flays in Borgata, make a reservation, get the New England Clam Chowder, Smashed baked potato and either the Filet Mignon or Philly Strip Steak with melted provolone and caramelized onions.

Best buffet is also at Borgata. Second is Harrahs.

Any other questions let me know.

Headed to AC this weekend randomly. Borgota is crazy expensive. My options are Caesars or Harrahs. Staying on the boardwalk vs. Slightly better amenities(harrahs from what i gather)

Price difference is negligible. Which is the best move? Also, how difficult is it to move from Harrahs to the boardwalk and back throughout the night? Big inconvenience or no big deal?

Thanks

^that's because MLK day, most ppl have off next Mon..

Need a cab to get from harrahs to the boardwalk, but honestly, being near the boardwalk is pointless this time of year, nothing going on and it's too windy/cold to bounce between places IMO.

Not sure what you're plans are, but during the winter, best bet is just stay at Borgata, Harrahs, or even Trop (Quarter), being on the boardwalk is inconsequential imo

Good Points. I was planning Restaurants, Partying at one of the clubs and gambling at a few of the other casinos besides Harrahs(if i stay at Harrahs).

Sorry for the bump, but has anyone been following what's going on in AC?

Atlantic City could be down to nine casinos by Labor Day

No bueno. Revel is one of the nicest hotels I've been in, but there's a very good chance it will be closed (along w/ a few others).

I was in Revel the day it opened, you knew from the jump it wasn't going to survive. They focused too much on the entertainment and poshness instead of the casino and gaming aspect that keeps people coming to your place. Now they file for chapter 11 for a 3rd time and they are gonna be closed sooner rather then later

I like AC and go there when there's a chance, but there's too many casinos now. There's too many casinos in the Northeast as a whole too. Showboat will close by end of summer. They should reduce it to 6 or 7. I think AC should focus on being a multi-faceted destination where betting and gambling is only part of the attraction.

Another problem for AC is that Maryland now allows table games and MGM is going to build a casino that's right on the DC border. All the heads from the DMV who would trek up to AC for a night/weekend, now have no reason to go up there.
