Happy Founder's Day to the Kappas of NT Vol. 103 years and counting

Dudes came in here strickly to hate on Black Greeks/ NUPES. If he only knew...

If it matters I got my first job from a bruh. No interview no nothing. He knew I just got outta grad school and was looking for work and that was that was enough said. Won't front like it made me a millionaire but this is just one of the many reasons I appreciate the bond and I'm glad to be a Nupe

oh word? cronyism is the justification?

yeah let me hire this guy over more qualified applicants because we ran trizzy on some sorority chicks back in the day.

Greek life is cool, don't get me wrong. I've been to a few different parties (not Kappas) and dudes show love. But that's a piss poor justification you just made.

Love these threads. Checking in :nerd:

FML #82
Karamursel Consistory #96
Zohri Temple #204

Always was interested in fraternities but never did the research to see what they were about. The thought of having to pay to join kinda turned me off but I now understand the connections it brings.

Who is to say I wasn't best the best candidate either way and he didn't just expedite the process because he already knew of my talents and work ethic from our shared experiences in the frat?

Not to mention that this happens everyday with or without fraternal involvement. Face it fam some things are really about who you know. From the sound of your post it just sounds like you still need to step your network up.

Not saying you weren't the best candidate. But the way YOU put it, there was never any due process. So you yourself are admitting that cronyism is why you got the job, the other applicants were not justly considered.

And yes, it happens every day. But good networking =/= cronyism. Good networking is people who can stand by your work. Cronyism is not the same.

Don't be mad at me because you admitted the latter.

Anyone willing to talk more about this outside of forum, I have some questions to ask/looking for advice.

Could someone explain to me what the Kappas are in a succinct, unbiased way?

You're posting this thread on a public forum; you'd do well to explain what you are celebrating, so those of us who aren't familiar won't jump to conclusions.

It's a pre-dominantly black fraternity.

Founders Day is a nod to the founders, most notably Elder Watson Diggs.

Not a Kappa but there you go.

Yo, I'm interested in joining a frat but don't know which one is best for me. My homie joined the nupes this past year, honestly don't know much about em. If it matters I'm a Chico.

It all depends on your campus.  Members here can help explain what the Fraternity strives to do nationally, but unless someone here was a brother at your school and knows what its really like on the inside, they really can't help you answer that question.

happy belated founders day....like one said before...im not a bruh but i am greek.....I turn 100 on thursday...
