Nike Zoom Ultraflight Retro in 2014

they modified the ankle area... if you had the og shoe as some people ahve posted. ankles that were not covered with socks and that were exposed would get killed on the leather and the plastic shell. but you can see by the picture posted that they extended the sockliner to provide a barrier / protection for bare ankles.
 
If were getting a modified "premium" version does that still qualify these as a retro :nerd:
 
Not stressing that $170.

These will sit and be got for $50.

I think I paid $30 for my pair at the outlets.

$170 is ludicrous.  I'm curious to see how they justify it and what the ad campaign looks like.
 
I literally almost never go into the shoe forums any more... Been years since I actually saw a JM post... again, since I've seen one...
 
I was off NT for a year or two and when I started posting again, I saw some JM posts or people referring to JM posts pretty quickly.  All about which threads I guess.
 
I love this shoe but I don't want to get my hopes up. Knowing Nike, they're going to source the cheapest materials they can find and use crap zoom that's nothing like the original. Like the almost non-existent zoom they used in the zoom flight gloves
 
Most people probably got the Gloves out of nostalgia to wear casually, and not necessarily to ball out.

Not saying it's right, they should make em how they used to for the price they charge.

Can't picture people buying the Ultras to wear casually.
 
Loved playing in these shoes.. had the blue and the red ones.

Never really had any issues with ankles getting cut, but I wasn't wearing low top socks either.
Though the inside of "shell" would always fog up and I'd have to swipe my finger inside to remove the trapped moisture.

Hoping for the similar quality as OGs but expecting the worse.

Even since Kobe 8 first appeared, I've gotten so used to playing in low tops but I finally might buy another mid (the new version looks higher?) for actual balling.
 
Going from Kobe VIII's to these would be punishment for me.

I wore high socks every time with these and some days it would dig in, other days it wouldn't.  They're great balling shoes, but I had some issues with them.

had the white/blue and black/red
I always ended up with cut on my heels :smh:

That price though :x
