Where do Dirk and KG end up in the pantheon of All-Time Best PFs?

You guys know what I mean, when they were in their cohesive primes and had their threepeat, not for every single minute they were signed on the same team.

Wait so Shaq and Kobe didn't play together in 2003?

Interesting
burnt out after making the finals 3 years in a row, gets sent home early and gets some rest, beats them again the following year

lets not change the subject here but phil/kobe/shaq or pau's lakers dominated the spurs in the playoffs, its not even debatable

In 1999 and 2003 Kobe and Shaq were together
phil is the reason we came together to win 3 straight, with out him we win 1 at most

including 2003 lakers (kobe/phil) have a .700 record vs the spurs in the playoffs, pretty much a cakewalk every meeting

It's close, but I go with Dirk > KG because if I'm a GM and I needed one of the two guys, and the rest of my team is a bunch of scrubs--I'd have more faith in Dirk to lead the team than KG. KG was never a franchise player. He had his opportunity and maybe it was his age, but he never was able to put anything together. He's provided "leadership" and whatever, but KG had his time with Terell Brandon, Spree, Marbury and was never able to do anything.

He was a big part of why the Celtics won, but he's not a #1 guy. He's 5th out of 5 in the top 5 PF for me.

I'd never be comfortable saying "I'm going to build my franchise around KG" because, unfortunately, you can't just be an all-around beast. At some point, you have to be able to be "the guy" offensively, and KG doesn't have that.

I also don't trust that KG is a sane player who is coachable.

I don't even look forward to this because KG is my dude among dudes and I know rings will be that deciding factor for those that just don't know....

Only guy I'm taking ahead of him is Duncan even though head-to-head I feel KG got the better of the Timmy in their heyday....Based upon only the individual, of course.

Everything this man said. Individually, Kevin Garnett is the best PF of all-timez

I agree with this, all of this.

Couple things,

1. Sprewell was not a good player at the time. He was 33 years old and washed by the time he got to Minny and was out of the league a year later.

2.

at KG not being coachable when his former coaches/teammates say the exact opposite.
"He’s the single best athlete that I’ve ever been around as far as being a team guy. He’s as ‘team’ of a star as I’ve ever seen. A lot of stars are stars, but he’s unselfish, to a fault at times, but every coach should be able to coach Kevin Garnett just to see what a true team player should be.”

Sprewell was FAR from washed when he got to Minny, that's just wrong.

Umm his PER and WS/48 were both below league-average and his TS% was under .500 which is atrocious. That's Raptors Rudy Gay territory. You consistently make fun of every player in the league with that kind of inefficiency.

I'd take Duncan, Malone, then Chuck in that order.

Barkley was a rebounding monster at what? 6'4"-6'5"? That's ridiculous...
