Anybody here besides me listen to any jam bands/ blues bands?

i.e.: Band of Heathens, Widespread Panic, Infamous Stringdusters, Robert Randolph & the family band, Tedeschi Trucks

All I ever see is hip hop/ hipster music posted in here

Hell yes :pimp:

Seen everybody and their mom over the years. Been doing at least one festival every year for the last 14 years. Hands down my favorite is Wanee Music Festival.

You see Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes are leaving Allman Brothers at the end of this year? SUCKS but it will make Wanee that much more special this year.

Love this kind of music but not well versed enough in it to discuss it. Recommendations? All I know is older stuff like Muddy Waters. If that even counts

Lol yea older music matters, it's the building blocks of the new stuff. Reccomendations would be Band of Heathens, the Dirty Guv'nas, Robert Randolph, and anything Susan Tedeachi or Derek Trucks. Those are all easy listening, but in order to see the full potential of a band you need to see them live.

chopper,

Glad to see I'm not the only dude on here that doesn't listen to rap. Sucks about Warren Haynes and Trucks. But that means more GVT Mule and TDB!

Ah bro I love rap. LOVE RAP! But I love jam too. And I completely agree that people need to see jam live to really appreciate it. ABB was so good two years ago at Wanee they had me (and damn near the whole crowd) in tears, no bull.

I've seen Greg but never the Allmans. I would pay top dollar if they came back around SC.

I'm telling you man, if you can make it to Wanee you should. North Florida in mid-April. It's their festival. Should be absolutely epic this year. Check out the line-ups from years past to see if you dig 'em.

zube42 - A good place to start with The Allman Brothers Band is their Eat A Peach album.
